Don't improve exhumer tanks, improve their movement

Keep the tank as-is or lower, and give them a reduced mass, better velocity multiplier and have them turn & accelerate faster.

You're (I lol) are a miner, you're/I'm the fat sheep of Eve online that nom all the useless grass and turn it into something useful. Your whole philosophy should revolve around getting in there, getting everything you can, then gtfo; you don't stay there and hope the shots of enemies and pirates bounce off. Really, the only reason exhumer/barge tanks are a contentious issue is because the stupid assholes can't haul ass out of there when the going gets tough. This would let people actually playing have a larger chance of survival (assuming aligned and ready to begin with, like a smart person) while letting the lazy, fat targets who step away for whatever reason die horribly as it should be.

My 2 cents :3

If they were more agile i think they'd stop feeling like industry ships.

I really don't think increased mobility helps a ship where the typical yield fitting has about 10k EHP.

I agree with this concept, in real life ore has no mass, it exists as electrons along electrical pathways. These electrons have effectively no mass in real life. Additionally titans also exist in real life as a sequence of electrons along a pathway thus titans should also receive the mass removal. Titans are fully capable of being used as a mining ship, so the change should apply to both exhumers and titans, its six of one or half dozen of the other.

If they become more agile, they would naturally have to have thinner EHP.

it would be better if they would introduce an interdictor type ship but replace the warp disrupt bubble with a pos shield bubble. that would give hulk pilots time to warp off if needed and not mess with current yield rates and amounts.

I'm not sure how being able to get away faster after being blown up in one volley would help.

There really isn't a 'going gets rough' for a barge. It's either not getting attacked or it's scattered about in pieces.

+9001, I want to pop these things up too, but with an obscure password and in the middle of a big fleet. SHIPS EVERYWHERE, RAGE ON COMMS, WHO THE **** PUT THAT BUBBLE UP.

But their agility helps them with their intended purpose, and i think they're significantly smaller.

I believe Hulks are fine the way they are now, but there could be more variety in Mining ships. A cov ops Exhumer, for example would be great for slipping in and out of lowsec or even 0.0, and you could make that pretty agile.

Don't change anything about the exhumers. Change mining itself so less people feel the need to AFK mine so much and get popped.

Well IMHO, there should be a capital mining ship, about the size of titans but allowed in high-sec, these ships should be able to directly mine ore and produce goods directly.

Merchandise class ORE industrial.

5% increased ore extraction per level of ORE capital.
7.5% reduced production cost per level of ORE capital.
5% per level increased core scanner probe strength per ORE level.
2.5% bonus to shield resists per level

700,000,000 m3 cargo bay.
Jump Drive

~200kk EHP

Able to field only light drones but up to 25 of them at once.

Special module allows "phasing" this prevents the megolith from being attacked for 24 hours (similar to POS tower) During this time the ship can jump out of system. Should also be able to warp through stargates and acceleration gates.

If those mini-jump drives that shoot you 150km went in a low slot, it would do something similar to the OP suggestion. You could be aligned to your safespot, and when anyone entered, immediately jump 150km away, and hopefully get a warp off before they got to you. It would still allow those awake to get away, and leave the unprepared there to die.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
