Adding regions - question for CCP.

When you guys add regions do you need more hardware? Or do you calculate that the same number of people will be using the same number of computers, you're adding more options for where they are not adding more people to the mix, or is there some huge overhead I don't know about?

Will more regions be coming to new eden at some point soon? It's getting pretty populated unless you go far far out into the botlands.

They just added 2500 more systems when they introduced Worm Holes. There are many many empty systems out there, I travel to quite a few of them often. Lo-sec is actually very under populated, half the time I'm the only one in system for hours on end. People are scared of the big bad piwates and don't go there. There are tons of empty systems, find one and move in.

I really wish more people would give low sec i go thou it a lot looking for goodfights but most of them are empty nowadays or hiding in pos's

Considering Jita is the most active system i don't think ever would spread out if CCP added more regions

Low-sec has been useless for mining, and with this drones nerf - really just buffs 0.0 back to where it used to be, doesn't effect low-sec too much - the problem in low-sec is the fact that there's nothing there for most people.

Where there are valuable resources, the systems are full of people all over the place, unless you head right out into "serious logistics country".

It's also useless for ratting. I mean "please come live in low-sec" really isn't going to get anyone into low-sec without some benefit for them.

When the changes come in over the next year, low-sec might well be a good place to be - and then it will be just as populated as everywhere else ?!

I gather there's a memory hit on the servers when you add more systems (even if they are empty of people) to them, but I'm wondering if CCP plans to add more. And if there might be a hardware related issue in adding more space to new eden.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

This has nothing to do with the topic dude. Low sec rants are elsewhere.

Really.

I was checking out that Jove thread and it occurs to me: with the Jove being a dying race, story-wise, they could very easily link up the Jove regions to the rest of the stargate systems and let us invade them.

It would end up as only so much more space-fodder for the DRF/PL, but hey, why not? Make a point about how awesome and heartless Capsuleers can be: We turn on those who made our rise possible. We rise up against our creators and strike them down like the invalids they are, thus conquering the most powerful empire in the known universe. Could lead to some extremely interesting stuff with the other empires... increased Concord presence, banning of weapons from certain systems, or maybe making NPC navies declare war on alliances/corps/capsuleers-in-general.

Just some ideas.

Tell people you don't live in low sec. It shall then double in population.
