If my googlefu sucks and I just missed it, feel free to give a link then flame at will.

I am just wondering as there was all the talk about changing the battlecrusier and destroyer skills from one combined one to four racials. Also I know CCP wouldn't lose skill points but I haven't heard of any timeline of when this will happen. I do want to get into the Command Ships as do a lot of other people and it would be nice to know when we need to throw in BC V for 20 days vs 80 days of racials.

Not coming in April, but no date given. Vague mentions of a lot of the dreaded work to be done.

Delayed Indefinitely would be the ideal conclusion to draw.

'delayed indefinitely' sums up the 'future vision' of eve nicely.
its going to take them almost 1/8th the time eve has been around total (an ice age for an mmo) to introduce a few new ships hardly anyone will use.
10 months? lol

as for tiericide, that **** needs to come hard n fast or we'll never break the cycle of buff, fotm, escalated buff, fotm, nerf, buff etc

eve is stagnant folks, the subscriber numbers aside there's hardly anyone playing this game. the most critical and dynamic aspect of the game has been dead in the water for years now (null sov). incarna was a disaster and fanfest was the usual panopoly of vague hopes and promises. and thats not changed in a while now. since ccp seems incapable of iterating, balancing and improving their product at anything approaching a meaningful and relevant rate, stagnancy is the end result ..

a good game can go on being the same forever I guess. just dont expect to see 100k online anytime soon.

Assume it will happen with Inferno.. aka late May, early June.

If not, fine, it's done and out of the way.

While i think the statement "hardly anyone playing this game" is a bit of an overreaction you're more or less right... Proliferation of alts may give the illusion that more people are playing. However I can almost guarantee you that there are far less actual people involved with TQ than there were in the recent past.

Goons; infiltration at its best - first bob... now ccp itself. They dont realize you guys dot take this as "just a game". Bring it down guys, we're rooting for you.

You throw this claim out a lot, what evidence do you have to support your thoughts on that subject?

Usually: dev blog-> 30+15 -/+ -->official announcement ---> 30D +/-

By this crappy logic I'd say June/July witch is the good period with all kids getting back to play internet spaceship mining barges and twist the numbers.
Well at least now you know why having 20+accounts is worthy...ho w8 !

Here is a the lowdown:

- Destroyer skill will be split into 4 different skills. 1 for each race (aka Amarr Destroyer etc).
- Battlecruiser skill will be split into 4 different skills. 1 for each race (aka Amarr Battlecruiser etc).
- Capital Ship skills will now only require BS lvl 4 rather than 5.

Along side this some secondary or tertiary requirements has been removed/changed. Like the AF requirement to train HAC, or HAC/Logistic requirement for the Command Ships.

CCP has also stated that you will still be able to fly any ship you can fly now after the patch, which means that your character can get a bump in total SP due to the new skills.

A flow chart made by CCP can be seen here: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/www/newssystem/media/8742/1/Skilltreeafter_1920.jpg

This opens some interresting opportunities for people who have not yet cross trained all races and can fly all ships.

Let's take a closer look at the Battlecruiser skill and what it will be after the expansion. We know that Amarr BC 4 will be required to inject Amarr BS, which means that as long as Amarr BS 1 is trained before Inferno, your character is bound to get Amarr BC 4 after the skill split.

This means that a character that has all races BS lvl 1 is bound to get all races BC lvl 4 guaranteed with this change. Training frig 1-4, cruiser 1-4 and bs lvl 1 shouldn't take more than 4-5 days. Something worth thinking about for everyone who haven't cross trained all races already.

FREE SKILLPOINTS TO BE HAD.

But what about people with BC 5?

CCP might grant people with all races BS 1 and BC 5 all races BC 5 after the change, but nothing is guaranteed within the parimiters "you will be able to fly everything you can fly now after the change.

To effectively guarantee that you recieve all races BC lvl 5, you will probably have to train Command Ships lvl 1 and probably all races cruiser 5. Since Command Ships is a t2 BC, it will need e.g. Amarr BC 5 to fly an Absolution in Inferno.

Alot of people (including me) probably already have this, but if you don't it might be something worth doing to guarantee that you get all races BC 5 post expansion.

Lastly, same rules will probably apply to destroyers. Get all races cruiser lvl 1 to be guaranteed all races Destroyer lvl 4, or get all races frigate lvl 5 and Interdictors 1 if you already have Destroyers 5 and want to be guaranteed all races Destroyers 5.

POST PROBABLY LONGER THAN 99% OF YOU PEOPLES ATTENTION SPAN, BUT READ IT IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE SURE TO GET AS MANY FREE SKILL POINTS AS POSSIBLE.

To fly a race battlecruiser you only need racial cruisers 3 now, so that must be the requirement to get racial BC skill if that is the logic.
Also don't train BS 5 if you're going for capitals, 4 will suffice after patch.

So if I have BC 5 today and 1BS at 5 all others at 1 because I don't give a crap about command ships you think it's fair that I get all BC's 4 and you 5?

Definitively Malcanis WILL have his Monument at some point.

Don't forget the potential for a free boost from racial freighter IV to V if you can fly jump freighters. (Jump freighters are T2 ships and under the proposed paradigm, T2 ships require a V in the prereq ship skill. Currently, jump freighters only require freighter IV.)

As for dates, the ship balancing dev blog said this: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=9129
"Starting with EVE Online: Inferno, we will begin revamping ship classes one after the other, making sure obsolete hulls serve a purpose. This is still in the research phase and constructive feedback is most appreciated while we wait for the next ship balancing blog to come out, dedicated to how such changes will impact the Amarr Empire fleet."

Worst case, CCP has the entire thing implemented by May 22nd for Inferno. However, IMHO, it's more likely that they will finish off their current feature set for Inferno and then begin tweaking ships and shiplines after Inferno is stable. Plus, CCP may find that they need to re-balance the economy after Inferno (if not sooner) due to poor PvP pilots not being able to afford to fly the ships and fittings in the manner that they've become accustomed to.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Large Collidable Object

Which is bad - my characters will be able to fly the same ships they can fly now but will have roughly 6 million additional SP, increasing my JC cost for no benefit.

Its looking that way, obviously no guarantees, this is all just heresy going back what we have picked up from CCP's announcements.
