Give Ships an Overheat Modifier Based on Race

I'll start off with some statements that should surprise noone. Minmatar is the current king of the hill in Eve. Minmatar is SUPPOSED to be the technologically backwards race but the only thing off about their ships is the artwork. They have bigger powergrids then Gallente and Caldari ships. They're faster. They can usually fit the largest tier guns for their size, have a significant buffer, and maintain their speed. Pretty silly really.

Here's the short and simple of my idea:

Give each race an overheat modifier for their ships. Caldari and Gallente are the most technologically advanced. Their ships get a modifier of .75. When they overheat a module on their ship it overheats at 75% the speed it would now - they can run longer and hotter. Blink

Amarr gets a modifier of 1.0 - no changes in other words.

Minmatar gets an overheat modifier of 1.25 - they modules on their ships overheat 25% FASTER then they do now.

Gallente will hopefully have their hulls looked at. Caldari and Gallente will also hopefully have hybrids buffed. The idea above would give some interesting tactical options to go along with those buffs. Gallente can pulse their MWD longer and get a short speed boost for example....

you'd think Iraqis are pretty backward, but ied's are pretty effective. both physically and mentally.

the problem with your suggestion is that, when they play with weapons and ammo's again and they will, everything will be even more screwey, and then some other race is FOTM all over again. i can just here the Nerf Blasters thread in mind.

Well, blasters will get buffed. I'd rather have all options on the table with an intelligent discourse then a straight damage or range increase.
