I'm dealing with it. It is fine if it has to be postponed, but the proper way to do it is by saying so, not by silence. I also suspect that they may have forgotten, so a few pokes are in order. You also make it sound like a bigger deal than it is, and if I presented it the way I did is because they pointed in August that summer didn't end yet when another release promised for summer had not yet been released at that time (Incarna something point something). If you give a date, you release on that date or announce the delay, is it that hard to understand, Dorian?

I continue to be amazed at how many people are outraged that we, as subscribers to the EVE service, take CCP at their word and hold them to stated deadlines and communications promises. There are very few people in the world of grown-ups who find it acceptable for their service providers to consistently miss deadlines or deliver undesirable results.

That is not to say that these things do not happen IRL. For sure, deadlines are missed. Crap is delivered. But we, as customers, neither have to accept poor performance nor must we keep silent about such things.

As a general rule, silence reflects acceptance and complicity. That is not the way of the EVE subscriber community.

Summer is over. Where is the Commercial Licensing devblog?

Summer is over on earth. On all possible calendars. Or has not started yet, on the southern hemisphere. In reality it ended at August ending (from wikipedia: "Solstices and equinoxes are taken to mark the mid-points, not the beginnings, of the seasons"), but apparently on some countries with temperature lag it ended now. Where is the devblog?

CCP Zulu wrote:
So what we‘ll do is take a step back, harvest feedback from this thread, do an iteration pass on the contract and terms and give you an updated version before the end of summer. Until we have a license that meets our needs and your expectations we will not make any changes to our terms or enforcement thereof.

Hey man,

Let's take things down a notch alright? Yes CCP said before end of summer, which was pretty foolish, as the place is a ghost town in August. The same result could be obtained via, a thread asking where the damn thing is. If we want the devs to interact here, we need to save the vitriol for when it's really needed.

Am I wrong when I constantly see this usage of "on" and call it wrong? It's a new trend I've been observing across the Internet for the past couple of months. Same goes with everyone suddenly replacing ed with t. (although, it is my understanding that replacing ed with t works both ways, the t just makes it sound annoying)

Maybe the Internet really does make people stupid and illiterate?

Apropos, mixing up "your" v. "you're" remains my particular un-favourite Cool If text itself could be said to be able to scream out "I'M STOOOO-PID!!!" then that does so. Really, really, loudly.

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

If that's all you have to pick on, thanks. English is not my main language. If I say it that way is because I've read it that way lots of times and now it sounds good in my mind (when something is wrong in my language I feel something doesn't fit in the phrase). I may have learned it wrong from Internet, but I'd swear I did read it on paper time ago, maybe it is different when you refer to countries than seasons, for example? Honestly, however, there are a lot more concerning faults on the web to haunt for, are you bored? :)

PS: If you find the answer from a reputable source don't hesitate to inform me, I'm always happy to learn.

I'm a little bored, so here goes.

Words are on the page.
You read things in the paper or in the book.
Everything happens in the country.

You hunt for things you have lost. Ghost haunt you at night.

I haven't seen the t replacing ed thing. Seems a bit silly to me. Not sure why anyone would do that.

Only doing this because this thread has finished since a dev responded.
Yes, I'm bored enough. bad grammar doesn't make me mad or angry and I don't really care that much... just trying to help.

Read my other posts, I was trying to make fun remembering of another one that wasn't released at August because summer can last longer on another measure.

This is the thread asking "where the damn thing is", I was going to ask at the end of August but then I saw the other release delayed because summer had not ended and waited till now thinking it was on the way. I guess I may be the only one getting struck by the longing summer comment back then.

So what's the source? My doubt still is that maybe the two are correct, I can see it more clearly on another places. Changed it on the post anyways to please [:p I'm bored too Big smile

PS: The dev responded to say a response may be coming, until the response to the question at hand doesn't come I don't think we can say it's finished.

CCP have not released any info because their 'Summer' time is aligned with Australias summer, cause we have the best summers.

Hello? Where is this standing now? Is it in process? Is it canceled? Is it neglected? Communication, please, I would know what to expect.

How can this thread have got to page 2 without the obvious:

WINTER IS COMING

Good to see the OP make the effort to call out a serious issue that has been brushed under the carpet, good to see a dev reply, a pity the dev's reply was as specific as Blizzard's target audience.

I don't know why this just clicked with me...

Winter is coming. You re correct. Leaves changing color outside? Check. Cold air at night? Check. Bugs dying? Check.

I've been reading the EvE news as usual... but this year is different than those in the past. There's no news about anything, really.

Is there going to actually be a Winter expansion?

Give me a break. I think you are forgetting that CCP is a for-profit company, whose sales are tapering off. If you think they are going to release.......absolutely nothing, well, than the fear-mongering on the forums has reached an all time low.

They have no choice but to adapt, or die. In this case "adapt" means doing whatever takes (however minimal or expansive) to get those numbers up again and get the subscription cash flowing again. The future of three major projects, and a giant cash cow, depend on it. This one is for all the marbles.

Lucky for them, those that have stopped paying for Eve have made it absolutely crystal clear why they stopped and what it will take for them to fork over the dough again. Hilmar said "we will watch what they do", and CCP's dev teams are now going into "triage mode" on the forums, as expected. (And we should be appreciative of it. There is no denying the heightened level of activity and shortened response times.)

CCP has all the information they need, and all the tools, I think simple economic reality is reason enough to be optimistic about there being SOMETHING of value for most players in the winter expansion. CCP just doesn't have much of a choice right now. We know it, they know it, we've said it, they've said it, just let the people do their jobs and enjoy the game in the mean time. Or don't.

But for the love of Chribba, lets end the ridiculous fearmongering and apocalyptic bullhonkey.

We can't be constructive until we know what are the plans for commercial licenses. All the constructivism that is possible is asking for information on whatever those plans are, accepting the possibility of postponed plans or even cancellation, and that was done in previous posts, maybe you only read the first post. I really don't know how one can be more constructive, the only other alternative is to ignore the issue and look to other side, that's not constructive either. What do you expect we should do when they don't do what they say, pretend they didn't say it?

CCP alt spoted Big smile. Joke aside, why do you take it as personal? I think you are biased in favor of the company, try to see it with a little more perspective (I do agree that the lack of winter's expansion if it would come to that, highly unlikely, should be taken with the mind in the longer strategy, though).
