I'm sure this has been brought up many, many times, but nothing seems to be changing so I thought I'd bring it up again... The NeX is just too expensive for most people in New Eden, including myself. So I guess I'm not considered "noble" enough to buy a nice jacket or overcoat. Ok; I can accept that. But does that seriously mean I am forever doomed to have only the "free" clothes to choose from? Besides, even if I had the ISK, there is no way in hell that I'm paying 3 plexes for a freakin COAT!

So everybody already knows this, but nothing is changing. Nothing's being done about it. Why can't we also have the "Common Exchange" or "CeX" (the "c" is pronounced as an "s") for all us commoners? Somewhere I can pay something reasonable like 100k ISK for a jacket or coat, and not have to sell 12 battleships in order to get my character a new tshirt.

I want to dress my avatar properly in accordance with their in-game occupation. Come on CCP - give us CeX Big smile

Oh hoh hoh, I say! Allow the peasants to wallow in whatever attire they can so pitifully afford!
And "CeX" pronounced as "sex"? Ingenious!

You already have a fine assortment of jackets. What's the point in having another unless it's a status symbol?

I think I read somewhere in a dev blog a while ago that long term there will be no free cloths
you will awaken in a clone in a medical robe and have to dress from clothes you have purchased

I get the high prices of some items such as the monocle. if it was reasonably priced it would not be rare. Just look at how many players bought goggles with there free aurum
but the exchange rate was way way out of line when the NEX store was released, and now they can not change it without screwing over the ones that did buy stuff.

right now a PLEX goes for about 500 Mil and is worth 3500 AURUM. 3500 AURUM is not even enough to buy one complete outfit, yet 500 mil could buy and fully fit a battleship. Even based on the prices of PLEX when the NEX was released (around 350 mil) it is still an obscene amount of isk to pay for a shirt. A PLEX should have been worth 35,000 AURUM and just make the items that are meant to be rare like the monocle and the field Marshall coat x10 more expensive than they are.

The free AURUM given out did allow many players that had no desire to buy PLEX to spend on the stupidly over priced NEX store items got to buy a couple minor things. There may have been a few EVE billionaires who used some of there insane amounts of isk to buy/convert some PLEX to AURUM, I have seen a few with monocles, But I doubt there is a single EVE player that bought a PLEX for real money with the intent to convert it to AURUM

The NEX store as implemented was a total failure. It might have worked if it was released along with Walking in Stations where you could show off the stuff you bought, but these vanity items that are seen nowhere but in character portraits are not worth the cost of several battleship hulls

I could see some players spending real money for AURUM for new ship skins(that were supposed to be a part of the NEX store) that would actually be seen in game provided they are not spending several hundred dollars of real money on a ship that will get popped if they ever undock it.(guaranteed these would be major pirate gank targets). But if it was a skin that would be available every time you used a ship of the matching hull no matter how many times you got popped then they would sell very well.

The NEX store was such a fail, that I doubt they will put any more dev resources into expanding it. Unless they make a way of converting isk directly into AURUM without having to spend 500 mil isk on a PLEX.
