Not really. A good scammer uses social engineering. Not a 101-guide.

Yeah, aside from **** scams like contract scams (I hate those, they rarely work, really), the heart of scamming is just convincing someone that you're their friend and you have an honest deal, and then taking everything they have before they realize the preceding idea isn't true.
