Currently when CCP mods lock a thread on these forums, it is left to where it is.

This means that it does not take very many people to continuously start new threads on the same topic to drown out pretty much all other topics from a forum first page. For examples see e.g. IGS a couple of weeks back for posts by Ston (he got better, this is not a complaint, just an example) or GD currentely with the billion Jita Burn threads (they haven't and I doubt they will, but this is still not a complaint about them, just an example). The threads do of course get locked, because we are not allowed to start multiple threads on one topic, but since they are left in place, all you need is a continuous flow of new ones (that get locked) by different people (so that if someone gets banned for it it does not matter) to keep first page for your own stuff. It is some sort of a public secret that sometimes people do this on purpose too.

As a solution I propose that locked threads are automatically moved to some "archives" section of the forums. If you want to, you could send the OP a note that this happened, so they don't wonder where their poor thread went. At least for a while, before people learn to look from there. :)
