EVE Revitalist Movement Needed Desperately

EVE has gone soft, and this change was a long time coming.

They slowly took away things that made this game great. There was a time where you weren't able to warp to zero. They took this away because a vocal minority of carebears complained.

Missiles and nanos got mega nerfed because of further vocal minority complaints. Titans used to be able to do not only area of effect doomsdays but could even deploy a DDD through a cyno! This was removed because it made the game "unfair" and "too hard".

There was a time when this game was far darker and more hard core than the current version. I believe those times can come again!

Things are only impossible until they are not.

I rarely, if ever, set foot out of high sec, but I still agree. I've caught myself getting careless due to complacence quite a few times.

Totally agree, lets remove stargates and have it so you have to slowboat between systems. What do you mean that's dumb? You're just a carebear no-one cares what you think!

Life was all better in 1956. Let's just bring back 1956.

Carebears brought about the titan nerf? That's a bit of a puzzler. Oh, I forgot, carebears are responsible for all the problems in Eve. Okay.

I would like to preemptively address the general opinion that this is a terrible post and offer the conciliatory suggestion that it was meant to be ironic, but came out poorly written.

Warp to Zero:

Was created because most of the playerbase had "warp to zero" bookmarks placed all over (Gates, Stations, PoSs, Safe Points, Asteroids, etc)

Missiles:

Eh, I don't recall many using missiles in PVP (Missiles =! Torps). But I guess they figured since you can't miss with a Missile the damage should be reduced. Except for below situations

Nanos:

Blame the ph00ns. Nanos were also, why Missiles were nerfed. See above, keynote on "can't miss".

Titans:

Probably to counter Chain-DDing the **** out of the enemy. I mean, why bring any other ship-type if ~50 Titans can destroy half the fleet due to "timed shots" (aka fire on primary in 3,2,1).

As for the DD through Cyno, how did CCP even think that was balanced. Expensive ship, and I get to blow most of the enemy away before they even see me.

As for a rebirth, that's why I'm hoping for

-Combat-in-Station (CiS). So many people chicken-**** out and hold up in a station these days waiting for the bad guys to leave.

-Give fleets a meaning...formations (buffs with debuffs for flying in formation)

-Remove local (isn't that coming?)

-Less powerful Concord.

-Few other things that will probably pop in

Close, the players had so many "warp to zero" bookmarks that it was causing tremendous database lag. WTZ fixed a lag issue. The fact that it removed a tedious facet of the game was just incidental, an improvement, or a lesser evil depending on your point of view.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I would have made those bookmarks a bannable offense.

You do realize CCP would have had to invest a substantial amount of money into servers dedicated SOLELY to comparing the X,Y-coords of EVERY Bookmark to the X,Y-coords of EVERYTHING in EACH of the systems.

And then you're making it too carebear for the Pirates who (actually did) whine about not being able to lock and pod ships using the W2Z-BMs.

Wardecs were never free. Not to mention the risk involved.

Don't worry, the game still doesn't display basic status effects like being webified, warp disrupted, or scrambled.

Even though every other MMO does and even current day military planes and navy ships would go nuts with blinkies and beepers if they detected scrambling or other electronic warfare was being used on them.

But heh, back to the days of chariots, eh? In space.
