Dear Nulbear,

Your 10,058 is only outnumbered by the rest of the player base. Remember, who votes for you means less than who doesn't vote for you. And 10k is a drop in the bucket...means less than the healthy dump I took last night while playing Angry Birds on the loo.

Now go crawl back in your Nulhole like the good little sheeple that you are...there's a good...lass, I guess.

Well to be honest so what? I was more making a point of how sad I find the rest of the posters calling for his head, So he kills EVE?? It would be a shame butl I'm sure my life will continue yours may not but I'm sure I'll find something else to spend £15 quid on, if CCP let it get to that point well then EVE deserves to die anyway.

If you actually read my post and try and understand it , it was more of a critque of CCP letting things get to that point but don't let your hatred of someone you and I will probably never meet blind you.

Mittani resigned? Who took over? I was living under a rock recently playing the firefall beta and work.

Well I will disagree with those who said that nothing that was written on the forums mattered.

You see CCP was most likely keeping an eye on the 2 main threads in GD (the amount of sneaky moderating going on would prove that) and getting a feel what the general reaction was.

I fully expect CCP did not want to ban kittens or have him completely step down from the CSM.

However, thanks to many of the Goons + CFC Members and their alts, because of sheer amount of failed postings, they help create what in all likelihood would of just been a handful of people posting into the dreadnought they turned into.

Personally, if the likes of Ladie Harlot, Lyris Nairn and Sidus Sarmiang were posting (strange that both Ladie Harlot and Lyris Nairn have both seem to have disappeared, hope they are okay) you mostly would of found that neither threads would of gone on as long or would of seen so many people post in them.

When you had Goons + CFC Pubbies + Alts posting, contradicting kittens himself, actually flaming Wis when he posted (which was a massive mistake) it just made people hate them even more and spurred them on to make sure CCP heard their voice.

You can try and **** post all you want but all it does is spur the other side on and gives the appearance that you are genuinely worried.

If the goons had just come on the forums and went yeah, you know what, he made a big mistake, it wasn't cool and he is sorry and left it at that, then both threads would of just died out.

Strange, I voted for Two step on one of my accounts - did I vote against The Mittani?

10,000 accounts. He has 10,000 accounts backing him. That's different to 10,000 PEOPLE. It's more like 2,500 people with 2-3 accounts, maybe even less than that.

WTF did you expect, people? You elected the Goon boss to be the boss of the CSM. That's like Americans being pissed off that the country went to **** when they voted for a Republican. Why are you shocked? If you want to have any sort of decency or integrity at the helm of the CSM, then don't vote for someone who is the self-proclaimed polar opposite.

I think it would be the greatest heist in the history of Eve if the depressed guy got the Goons into RL trouble with this, and then after having them pay him all their isk in please-don't-let-them-arrest-us money (which he could do, actually), he just turns around and says, "I was just messing around...I just wanted to humiliate you, make you cry, and take all your isk...just like you do to everyone else."

It would be epic, especially if it were done in response to Mittens' heartfelt apology letter. In effect, he would have single-handedly unseated the CSM chair, publicly humiliated him, cause him RL stress and legal problems, and out them all for being e-thug nerds at an event which is basically the Olympics of nerddom.

So...

a) Blackmail the goons into paying out (or would it be better classed as extortion?)

b) File false law enforcement report

Damn, that would be so fuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnah.

I didn't say anything about filing the report. He wouldn't have to. All the buzz about this and CCP's swift response to it has given it enough weight to make people THINK it's possible. And to be honest, IT IS POSSIBLE. Just the threat of him doing it would be enough.

And YES, BLACKMAIL THE GOONS. This is Eve, remember? What game are you playing?

What would they say in defense, that it's NOT TRUE? Everyone knows it's true because we've all seen it. "Gimme all yer stuffs or we can go forward with this in RL."

But to avoid the Real Life legal issue would require Real Life money.

So, yes

a) blackmail/extort real money from a real person(s)

-or-

b) file a false law enforcement report

Answer to a) And all the Goons gotta do is make sure the dealing goes on inside of EVE....hello server-side chat logs.
Answer to b) it's on file, plus see "Answer to a" for how to proof it was falsely filed.

...did I miss something? Roll

Yes, you missed a lot. If you would actually *read* what you quoted me saying you will have your answer.

"After having them pay him all their *ISK* in please-don't-let-them-arrest-us money...."

Basically he comes up with a list of demands, something like this:

"First, The Mittani gets banned from Eve for life.

Secondly, all assets belonging to Goonswarm are transferred over to my account.

Third, any repeat of this action will result in the permaban of said offenders.

These are my terms. I will continue playing Eve and agree not to pursue legal action against neither CCP nor the affected Goons. By doing this, you will be demonstrating that you are taking a proactive stance against cyber-bullying and will have rectified the situation of my civil rights being violated."

It's a stretch, I know; but what with all the professional victims these days, it's VERY doable. People have been prosecuted for much less.

As for the chat logs, do you think he would be stupid enough to do this with some petty, in-game dealing BS? No, this is a big time ****-up. CCP will be involved. It will be CCP transferring assets, not the Goons. It all just depends on how far he wants to take it. If he files a report against CCP and/or the Mittani for cyber-bullying, then it's real. Legally, he could. What you don't understand is that the ball is entirely in his court. It's not up to CCP or the Goons; this guy can broker his own deal. He may not wanna be a professional victim; he may just want to have CCP teach them a lesson. I'm sure CCP would be more than happy to gut Goonswarm and permaban Mittens instead of all the negative publicity they'll receive should he decide to bring this into a real forum with lawyers and such.

THAT is what would be epic, and then at the end of it all just blow up all their ships for insurance money and spend all the isk on a jump freighter full of exotic dancers.

When you can pay for a game with fake money which for all intents and purposes can be substituted for real money, there's no reason why using said fake money, i.e., isk, would be out of the question to settle a potential PR nightmare.

Like I said, it's a stretch but it's not impossible. In any case, the guy already commented that he thought it was kinda funny on the forums and nothing will come of it. But he definitely could've played up the victim to a T and really won out.

Hmm, so in context you're saying Said Person should have blackmailed Goons for in-game currency to avoid Real Life trouble?

Pretty sure that's against the EULA/ToS, still.

Also, I wouldn't have said "money", I would have used "ISK" after the "[...]-arrest-us" part that would have made it not seem like you jumped the track. Sad

"b" would still stand assuming that with your thinking Goons called the bluff and Said Person filed a police report (falsely, going by your scenario).

Also, because I read that wrong. I'm admitting I was wrong and I'm stepping down from being Self-proclaimed Forum Superstar ^_^ (Snarkism not directed to Astenion)

Friend, I SAID ISK. Nevermind, you understand it anyway.

And yes, you can blackmail someone over just about anything as long as it didn't happen in the game. CCP can't be held responsible if you blackmail someone with pictures of his wife banging another guy. I understand that this didn't happen in-game, but it happened at Fanfest and as a result of Mittens' outburst, the guy actually got harassed. This happened on CCP's watch with devs looking on, goading them with more alcohol. Personally I think if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen, but I'm talking from a legal standpoint. The guy could've said something to the effect of, "This caused me to have a nervous breakdown blah blah blah I downed a bottle of pills but unfortunately I woke up this morning blah blah blah", and then they would've been in a WORLD of ****. Luckily for them it didn't happen.

Mittens, from a position of relative power, implored hundreds, possibly thousands of people to harass a person with depression to the point of them committing suicide. This is the very essence of cyber-bullying. If the guy wanted to really ruin their day, he could do it, both in RL and in-game. It would've been up to him. Had he been content with iskies and loot and spaceships that go pew, that would have been his perogative...and something that CCP probably would've jumped at the chance to do. However, there is a very real possibility that this could have legal ramifications.

The thing is, NO ONE WOULD EVER KNOW IF HE WERE BLACKMAILING THEM OR NOT. That's the beauty of it! It's the ultimate con! They'd be too scared to challenge it. If CCP can fire the CSM chairman AND ban him for 30 days (which is a bit light, imo), don't you think they could confiscate all his assets and give them to the guy if he asked? All he'd have to do is sign a legal waiver saying the matter would be closed afterwards and would not pursue legal counsel.

Duuuuuuuude. It would've been amazing.
