CSM The Mittani's Misconduct Calls for Resignation - We Did It!

Witch hunt implies he did nothing wrong and is just being persecuted.

Most of us are geeks playing eve.
Most of us have been bullied, infact that what makes us the worst bullies of all.
The bullied are the worst bullies because they feel that since they were once the victim they can't do any thing wrong.

Hence the Flaming of Mittani. We are all taking our being bullied frustrations on him.

So what have you done for the victim?
I was able to find him, offered to sit on guard in an Ospray with reps encase gankers came. and offered while I had the standing to keep attacking a GSC to summon the concord till my standing was no longer. I was told that was not needed. So I left. But I have left an offer to call me if he needed help in the future... Leaving him a “marker”

Am I saying what the Mittani did was over the top. Yes!
I also think a goon mind set was in place when he put the slide show together, with out removing the name of the individual from the post- (a goon needs an internet space ship face on his victim.)
I also think the combination of Alcohol and per pressure to be the goon leader in front of his fellow goons in the audience caused his over the top reaction to go after a victim.

Personally I think that at Fan Feast anyone doing any formal presentation must be sober during those presentation. Which includes Alliance panel. Any Presentation involving the Live Stream needs to have an active moderator on stand by to circumvent the repeat of what happened.

So what can we do to prevent this from happening again:

No sharing of personal information.
No Alcohol on any formal panel. The Alliance Leadership Panel is now to be seen as an official panel.
A CCP representative now aware of what to look for leading the panel especially if it will be live streamed.


Banning Mittens?.. is punishing the symptom not fixing the problem. As there will always be another mittens just under a different name.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

And he would know from the precedent that he will be banned for trying to get someone killed IRL.

More like a kangaroo court.

Which is not surprising, because of the court of public opinion is almost always a kangaroo court, filled to the rafters with the howling lynch mob looking to string someone up to get their measure of revenge, or just further their own agenda.

CCP does and should have the final call about this, and hopefully will make their judgement based upon the details of the incident, and not what the unwashed masses are raging on about.

People come and people go, this will die down soon enough, CCP will have had to give into the public pressure, Mittani will be gone from the CSM.

Drink or no drink, shameful to be honest... I've never been in the position of wanting to end my life, however; none of us know what the individual was going though, what state of mind he was in (going from wanting to take your own life, then it's a pretty f*cked up state of mind).

Did he feel he could confid in an individual, did he feel he could speak to this person for help!? We'll never know.

if you remove the cause then you remove the effect.

The Mittani has felt bad about his actions. and had paid 11 Bill in isk to the victim and wrote a public letter of apology realizing his wrong doing..

Many people in several threads have threated or wished ill will of Mittani over the last few days... should we ban them too?

but all that is meaning less... we need to hit the cause of the problem not the symptom..

do not post personal information with in Eve. it is even in the TOS.

sounds sensible ...

BUT trying to gather support @ fanfest with his CSM stature and power as a goon leader, so as to actually try and make the fellow go into a suicide spiral is wrong very very wrong. whether info was passed or not, who in the right mind will want to suggest to have another player forced to a real death situation? of all these game related killings i have seen before in the news ... most of them are related to people of un-sound minds ....

IT IS VERY SAD to see something like this in EVE, a CSM to speak in such a way towards another player.

Your all smooth talking men, but that does not clean up what he did.
He could had mocked all he wanted about that dudes losses and stuff, but wanting him to die and asking for others to help on the pressure to do so, is not excusable .......

Okay, I actually watched the panel conversation. Alex (aka Mittens) clearly didn't plan to discuss one (of 22) character names of the player who tried to lay the guilt trip on Goonswarm for their hunting ice miners. He just blurted it out as an afterthought to a question at the very end of the session.

None of us knows whether this character has real-life mental health issues or not. We don't even know his true identity (unlike The Mittani). We cannot act as though every interaction with such an anonymous player should be considered a serious real-life issue.

As I wrote elsewhere, The Mattani showed horrible judgment by allowing himself to get this drunk in a public forum when he represents a player base. He appears to be immature and unprofessional. He came across as someone who thinks he is way smarter than he really is. Maybe he's that way all the time; maybe it's the way he thinks he is supposed to be when he's playing "Mittens" in front of a crowd. In any case, he needs some serious self-reflection, without a doubt.

These are not, however, sufficient reasons to force him out of his role as a CSM member. He isn't a CCP employee; he does not represent the company. There are no stated qualifications related to maturity, grace, and good judgment for him to remain in this role. He's been elected, and although he demonstrated zero sensibility, he is still qualified to fulfill his role as a CSM member. Don't like this? Then vote for someone else next time.

CCP only have one way.

Kick him from CSM and from game.

CSM person is a person that need to give example, need to be a neutral leader, a person that reach that position to defend the eve players, and not only some. What he had make, don´t have excuse.

Now there is a lot of comment, he was drunk.... can be ... but he was also when he had make the powerpoint !?!?!? .. of course not.. That only show that he is a person that don´t respect anyone and CCP can´t allowed that.


CCP NEED TO STOP THIS KIND OF ACTS THIS IS CYBER BULLING.

11 billion is nothing to his alliance. Where do you think that isk came from? Mission running? CCP, Do something already. It can't take this long to look at what he did... EULA

He's had a lot of influence, and it's not the first time under his rule that the goons have laughed about suicide or nazism... How far can that go ? I really hope he resigns to prevent this kind of behavior going to far like that. Out of the game as well as in game, there should be limits, or else people get hurt.
