Do they? What kind of crappy third world country do you live in, that's pathetic.

Some shithole that's for sure. In here you won't find a way to get out of trouble if there was ANY alcohol involved.

I find his behavior shameful for the entire player base and for the game itself.

Only way to settle his is to remove him off game, must be banned from CSM and banned from the game.

There was thru eve history players banned by putting "offensive" words on they bio, by calling names to other players in game channels, how can we possibly stand for this?

Cyber bullying is not something that can be tolerated, not in game, not out of game, not anywhere. period.

You're right. That's why he might get away with not getting banned. But this isn't a "here's the hard and fast rules" situation. This is a PR problem, not a "Alex broke the rules" problem.

The PR problem is dealt with by removing him from the CSM. That also addresses the play-base disappointment being expressed. It also send a message that taking griefing out-of-game is not going to be tolerated, without, you know, actually banning a player for a drunken mistake.

But then, it wasn't a drunken mistake. I'm willing to guess he wasn't drunk when he prepared the presentation. It was the presentation itself that gave rise to this whole incident.

That makes it not only a case of bullying - which he might not have intended it to be - but a bad error of judgement. Do we the players want someone who makes these sort of bad judgement calls as CSM chair? Poor judgement makes for a poor leader - and so there's another reason for the CSM to let him go.

Once you break it down, there's not really an upside to letting him stay... unless you hope "it'll blow over", which we know is pie in the sky. Every CSM press release, or news story will link back to this as long as Alex remains CSM chair. It's not going to go away.

Seriously, he made a ****-up while pissed, then soon as he realised what he had done, apologized and tried to make amends.

I can't see how he could of been expected to do much more than what he has already done, the mistake is already made, if the person he insulted has accepted the apology and I hope mittans sent him a chunk of ISK as well, then its story over. Everyone makes mistakes.

He may be a goon and a lawyer but he is still a human being, vaguely at least ;)

PS. Not a goon, never been a goon and not a Mittani fan, but fair is fair after all.

Two things:

  • He's an elected official representing thousands of players, because of this his actions are scrutinized. The fact that he's drunk does not excuse his actions.

  • Imo the only reason he apologized is because of the shitstorm his comments have created, if this had not been blown out of proportion like it has he wouldn't have cared.

Really?!... Link Proof or it never happened. And most criminals caught with drugs after an offense get another charge added on to whatever they where doing wrong.

By your logic if I ram into a car full of a young family and kill them all I can just say oh well I was drunk sorry.

Is he runing a country of someting? No.

He already appologised to the player and said player is 10bil richer, and at that point the guy was completely ignorant as to what was happening.

More than enough by my book.

IMO this thread is far more bullying than the declaration at the pannel.

To fart on someones face is bad. To keep reminding the fart victim of the smell is far worse.

First off he was not in trouble for "getting his toy licked" he was in trouble for lying to a grand jury. He was also impeached by the House of Representatives for it but there was not enough votes in his Senate trial to remove him from office. He also lost his law license and was barred from ever arguing in front of the Supreme Court. So there were consequences for his actions.

1. Depends on the JURY they decide (Playerbase)
2. They both get jail time regardless.
3. Both suffer from a life of trying to recover from something in their life they cant change.
4. Possible Monetary payments depending on Civil suit. (If One)
5. Both can never get a decent restart on life as they are both labeled threats to society.

I don't really see much difference in the punishment.
