Mittens was ASKED by some dude for the name, having mocked the tears of an anonymous miner - one of several, his presentation was a collection of tears - and said '"IF you want to make this guy kill himself, his name is The Wis" (Mittens then spelt the name out a few times)

Notice how he did not order anyone to harrass this guy at all?

People are just jumping on the bandwagon without knowing what actually went on. Sure, Mittens was a tool, an inibriated tool, but he is not guiltly of cyberbullying or whatever other charge people are labelling him with.

If he had actually said something along the lines of "Go spam this guy until he commits suicide, here is his address and real life name, I command you all to harrass this man" then I would agree with you guys completely. But he didnt. He said "IF you do want to make that guy kill himself..." There is a world of difference between telling a room full of people to go harrass someone, and providing the name of a guy to another dude who was asking for the name. Just saying.

What if it was a 12 year old, or a person that only had good enough hand eye coordination to mine (i know 2 such people that like the game but cant play like a normal person). it doesn't become OK all the sudden cause you learned more about the person.

There in lies the crux of the issue. You dont know enough about the person.

And it was at and out of game event with thousands watching.

With a powerful cult of personality saying go after this person.

He painted a big target on him, the equivalent of dousing him in gasoline. And his followers would have acted on his JOKE.

I think the bottom line is that the Mitanni's attitude has demonstrated that he does not represent EVE players, who as a whole are largely disgusted by his actions.

I believe he needs to step down from the CSM as was his original 3 point plan. If he does not he has no good faith left and the CSM becomes a sham.

Thats what i have asked for. Its the bare minimum that must happen for this to be taken seriously. A wishy washy apology that comes off as just trying to keep his CSM spot is an insult.

What he did warrants a punishment with teeth. Real justice.
