Like I said before in this thread.
Actions have consequences. That is the sole thing EVE is based on.
I do see him in the CSM, just not as chair because if he would take chair now the seat would be tainted for much longer a period than him sitting in it.

10,058 votes went to him and even if we wanted to we can't ignore that.

However we also can't ignore what happened and a mere " I am sorry" just doesn't cut it always.

This is one of the situations where a tad more bending over and getting the butt spanked is in order.

We know how much he wanted the CSM chair and I for one can't think of a better punishment then him still serving his term in the CSM but, regardless of the amount of votes, not in the function as Chairman.
If he still makes a landslide victory in the VSM 8 election he could be eligeable again for the chair, but this season his light would shine too tainted to be of real value to the CSM.

Odd how many people are saying "this apology is enough" when without any action showing that the apology is sincere it's meaningless.

He said he'd step down. If he's a man of his word (as he clearly wants us all to believe, based on the original post) he will.

If not...I assume there'll be a whole new uprising of people wanting to crucify him for it.

I must admit...the anticipation of his next move is killing me.

This seems to be where the disconnect is with the supporters. This is about the Person Alex Gianturco. Not the character the Mittani.

If CCP decides to do nothing of note (ie, Mittens stays in the CSM) then they're effectively stating they're ok with real life bullying and ganging up on people who are different or have mental issues. I'm not so sure that's a smart thing to do, especially due to the nature of EVE and how, at the moment at least, RL is separated from ingame stuff like theft and all that.

You can't come up with an excuse for this, Pahineh worded it nicely: it was a premeditated calling for a public lynching of an unstable fellow player, with quite possibly irrevocable results. CCP has to act.

This action by you was dispiccable, and inexcusable.

This post is mearly damage control so that you can try to keep your post on the top of the EVE pyramid. It makes no sense to appologize to us, you should be making ammends to the person/ persons you have wronged. The fact that you are posting publicly here is just for your corp mates can post in thier usual spam way.

Game or not, thier should be ethics involved here. You clearly loose yours easily, and blame alcohol as a scape goat. You are NOT the kind of person who should be writing policy, or be a representitive to/ for ANYONE!

To have the knowledge that someone is actualy depressed to the point of killing themselves, and calling for thousands of people to grief that person with the purpose of causing them to actually procede is damn near MURDER.

I'm sure this presentation was made when you were sober, so I dont believe alcohol is a good reason for doing what you did. Another assumption I'm willing to make a jump on, is that you probably already have your alliance carrying out your request.

All of this adds up to you leaving any formal position you have immediatly. After the CCP formal investigation, I hope they find you to be unworthy of the EvE universe.

You have gone over the top to ruin gameplay, and now lives.

I realise my words will fall short simply because of my chosen path of Corp and Alliance, but here goes

@pilots demanding the resign of The Mittani: wow you guys are just bottom feeders rushing to do what ever you can to squash what you think is killing your game. Reality Check CCP is fixing the game for every one, and if you want to hang this on the CSM then fine do so, but we know what is really causing CCP to wake up and fix EVE

You step down, and you open the door to anyone that wants to claim suicide to gain anything they want in EVE.

Bigger people in the real world have apologized and resigned from real positions of power, for much much smaller things.

If you had not made it a part of your actual presentation, it could be ran off as a mistake, mis-speaking.
If your fellow members didn't stand behind what you said, and pander all over the EVE-O forums like monkeys, it could have again, been ran off as a mistake.


The fact is you made this an actual part of your presentation, then followed through with presenting it, as humor.
Then your members, friends, associates, supporters ran all over the EVE-O forums stating their support of your words, for this or that reason, further creating even more problems, divides and ultimately much deeper issues within the eve community.



Apologizing for bumping into someone. acceptable
Apologizing for spilling some water on someone on accident. acceptable
Apologizing for accidentally hurting someone. acceptable

Apologizing for deliberately trying to cause harm to someone utilizing a video game as your execution platform. Unacceptable.
Apologizing for egging others on to cause harm to another via a video game. Unacceptable.

It's called cyber bullying, and like it or not, it's not funny. Even if it's meant in jest.
Your words and actions do not just effect the individual you were targeting but an entire community of players. Cause & Effect.

I'm pretty sure that cyber bullying is considered a felony now in extreme cases. Certainly seen some news coverage recently on it.

People talking about bans and resignations when this is far from the 'worse case scenario'.

Cyber Bullying does not fall into this category. It requires an actual victim to be a crime. According to The Wis he was NOT a victim of cyber bullying.

I think his apology is in earnest.

I also think he should resign as chairman, because it's the right thing to do.

He should also probably be officially repremanded by CCP, as a form of PR damage control.

Why is everyone freaking this its what happens in the game over and over and nothing is done and hell its encouraged. Hell you have all seen it on the forums as well maybe not the exact way but its here. If someone comes on forums and says something you all attack them also. You should have had your macs aligned ha hah your an idiot can i haz your stuff. U mad bro and many other comments a 10 yo could come up with this is the typical eve players.

Look at what they allow to happen and only because its in the spotlight anything is done about it. You even see it on the forums here about griefing a guy till he quits and they think putting someone through hell is funny. Hes a miner he should just quit anyway blah blah grief them all. This guy is a freaking idiot look at his fit blah blah kill his moron!! hahahhahah.

This is nothing new CCP should come out and say yup this is the type of game we want eve to be or they should start cracking down on it in game and on the forums. You don't have to grief to have fun in eve but that is what everyone loves to do and they say they will quit if i can't grief people and act exactly like MIT acted like. You can go to war and not be a **** and have fun mature time fighting over sov and whatever you want to do. Quit trying to cover up what you all cherish doing, its what eve is known for.
