Mittani,

Your actions have proved to the entire community that you are unfit for such a position within this community. You encourage and approve of cyber bullying, and by setting this kind of example, your entire corporation follows suit. I highly recommend that you step down and review your position in this community because you are not a teamplayer. You can be as sorry as you want, but it still doesn't change the fact that you encouraged another member of this community to harm himself. You also encouraged other members to do the same thing by trolling.

You are what is wrong with the game today. You have brought such a horrible reputation to yourself, your corporation and EVE Online in general. Trolling happens in all games, that I am aware of, but CCP should cut their losses and chose a player that is mature enough to fill such a position within the community and uphold the standards and responsibilities that is expected of such a role. Its not a hard concept, as having responsibility anywhere, especially in real life comes with expectations, maturity and a standard practice of behaviour. So grow a pair and step down, and let CCP choose a player that is more qualified for the position.

It is also obvious that you cannot handle your alcohol.

Missing my point is what makes this fire burn, and Mittani's tin foil moment. People with depression need professional help and support of their relatives, not mining veldspar in Eve Online and claiming to want to kill themselves.

If I can give my totally important noob two cents,

This is barely a thing. The comments were inappropriate and show a lack of maturity, absolutely, but they don't make The Mittani a monster.

I would have expected zero community reaction to this, except for the gaming media picking up on it which created the need for some PR control, what with the recent focus on "cyber bullying", etc.

This apology, in addition to the apology given privately to the individual involved, more than suffices to me.

I don't know if The Mittani actually learned anything from this experience, but that's not for me to judge. I wish him all the best as our chairman, and I wish The Wis all the best as a decent man, perhaps suffering from depression, who wants nothing more than to multibox more accounts than I can ever imagine remembering the credentials for.

And please, don't resign, Mittani. I didn't vote for you (I felt you didn't need the support, and wanted to ensure my industry-minded candidate made the top 7), but you appear to have done an admirable job as chairman so far, and your staunch opposition to WiS is something I thoroughly support.

Unlike most of the EVE players who are posting, especially those brainwashed to GoonThink, the REAL WORLD TAKES THIS VERY SERIOUSLY.

CCP will unfortunately now have to insert certain rules into our Game.

Sony, known for it's campaign against cyber-bullying, is now in a perfect position to drop Dust 514 like a Hot Potato.

THIS is exactly the kind of crap that kind of company will not deal with. At all.

Things will change unfortunately.

They absolutely will if CCP, no longer the truly independent free-spirit of the gaming world, wants to continue courting businesses like Sony and NVidia.

This kind of press to Sony: no Sir, they don't like it.

But then, when the mittani (I just can't capitalize it after this) brought the Goons over to OUR game, he said it was with the intent to destroy the game for everyone.

You said some unkind things about me at fanfest as well as on the radio show and after we got off air. You did not tell me to kill myself but you did call me a "***" and made fun of my disability.

You seem to only say sorry when their are consequences should you not say sorry, you let consequences dictate your actions rather than governing yourself with a sense of morality.

Yeah, an even bigger point, really. Mittani shouldn't be in the CSM, he should be in alcoholics anonymous and focusing his own time on making himself a better person. EVE is doing quite well, between Mittani as a person and EVE, I'd say the former needs more work done than the latter.

Be best for him to resign and then go get some serious therapy.

I'm so glad you cleared the air on this, Mitt. I hate to say anything nice about you since I'm sure it's bad for your reputation. BUT, you're a good man. It takes a rare courage to call things as they are sometimes. We've all gotten carried away at times, and said things we shouldn't, or done things we wish we could have back. Actually his ability to lead GSF from the point of being kicked out of space entirely all the way to being one of the largest powerbloc's in the game, along with the ability to put not one but TWO people on last CSM in a landslide victory kinda shows that he not only IS a teamplayer but an amazing leader to boot.

And frankly people come to play this game because of us. It's our antics, our scams, our spies, our politics that drives the recruitment for this game far more than you sitting in a belt shooting a rock for six hour stretches.

I'm sorry you can't see beyond your own petty biases to recognize reality from fiction.
