I think we all know that the person being mocked was probably not serious, but that gives you the right to ignore them - not the right to see how far you can push them. Because you cannot know that, and it's the cases (and they exist) where the person was serious that matter.

People on the internet are still people. Sometimes we forget that. It's not okay.

The longer CCP takes to get a stance in this issue the more credebility they will lose.

As per their own rules enticement to harassement is not allowed.
Mittens called out to harass. Be the player unstable or not doesn't matter.

Also saying he was there as CEO of Goonswarm and not as CSM chair holds no bar. At this moment he can't be seen apart from the chair and as such has certain guidelines to follow. he chose not to.

Saying it was drunk banther also doesn't cut it. Nobody forced him to to get drunk and step over the line. Both choices were made by him. Even though the choice to cross the line might be influenced by his drinking the drinking happened on his own account. Nobody forced him to get drunk.

As for intent. He brought that particular mail to the presentation. This was deliberate as to ridicule that player. Any actions, expressions or discourse after this was a result of a deliberate action to ridicule a player.
Since we also are fully aware of Goonswarm and pet's sort of playstyle the mere mention of his name and the mail would already result in overly ganking and scamming attention to that player by Goonswarm and pets.

By blatantly calling out to harass that player and giving that players ingame details he crossed a line which according to the rules isn't crossable.

Let's see how they will wiggle their way out of this one.


Edit: Also calling out howmany voted for him is irrelevant. The votes were in before the incident. Want to take a new vote and see howmany accounts will vote less for him now?

Iceland may or may not have cyber bullying laws- but they are a member state of the European Union and the EU have laws on cyber bullying. I don't think that there will be much left of this 'career'. The media is involved. Right at the moment of this post, it's only MMO-news sites. But as cyber-bullying has been a tragic issue for some time now, the major outlets will likely have articles on it as well. Politicial attention will be gained, and not favorably.

This is all going to happen if nothing further occurs. And we hope that the cyberbully victim does get help, heals and is able to work out a better path of life for himself.
