Not because of what actually happened, but because of how it looks to the uninitiated. Is CCP going to go to bat over this in the media explaining the nuances of what they're trying to create with this game when 99% of the people who hear about it are going to read 2 sentences and start brandishing pitchforks?

Naw, they're just going to throw him to the wolves. Something along the lines of "this is what we're trying to do, but this particular individual took it too far, so we banned him".
