I think we need to discuss the other serious misconduct that Mittani performed during Fanfest.

He got his Wizard Hat.

Where the **** is his robe?

What we had is some fat afk botting pubbie running, what, 22 bots at once? And Goons announced they would kill him, and then killed him (which he didn't notice cause he was afk botting), which is a good thing -- because bots are literally killing EVE. Upon getting his ass gently placed upon his head like a hat by the Goons, he tried to rant and guilttrip them as best he could.



All of what you have posted is fine.

The problem is that as soon as the The Mittani stood up whilst being film at an official CCP Event, mocked and humiliated a person who possibly could been suicidal and then encourage others to do the same, the **** was always going to hit the fan.

When CCP, their Partners and Investor's are seeing headlines like

"CCP launches investigation after Eve Online FanFest panel accused of mocking suicidal player" - eurogamer.net

"Eve Online Panel Encourages Harassing Suicidal Player" - The Escapist

"CCP investigation into 'suicidal player jokes'" - Developer

"CCP investigates player panel that encouraged cyber-bullying" - Massively

Then then it becomes an issue outside of Eve Online.


Not really. That is just that these sites post sensationalist crap without any investigating into the matter.

If anything, CCP should act against these sites for spreading lies when the guy that Mittani mocked apparently isn't suicidal. Much less depressed.


Yeah they should probably muster the international e-lawyers and have those sites SHUT THE HELL DOWN because in criticising the Mittani they obviously hate america (and democracy) ((and too much beer))

I should point out I'm not really saying his behaviour was "OK" because he was clearly drunk off his face. For whats its worth I think it was an embarrassing cringe-worthy nonsensical alliance panel (apart from the wormhole guy and the scottish ransom sing-a-long guy who both rocked) - But I do think it was pretty hilarious the post above me should suggest that CCP take "action" against gaming sites!

That said, Mittani is clearly an amateur as yet with this protest against his chairmanship business. When I was chair of CSM one I had 100 page threads full of goons calling for my resignation because I temp-muted an annoying woman in an internet chat channel. Until he reaches that level of noteriety he's still a pussycat.

Still, he probably should apologise because he did make eve players in general look pretty stupid which is a shame given the otherwise complete success that Fanfest was this year.

And regardless of all the "did he didn't he" (break the tos / eula whatever) it is significantly implied that when a person runs for CSM that they should be aware they are representing the community and should behave in a mature and adult way in public. I think its fair to summise that had the early CSM's have acted as poorly at fanfest as this guy did there probably wouldn't be a CSM in existence today.

I would like to say that on behalf of my corporation, and many other member corporations in Goonswarm federations alliance, we are enacting procedures designed to strip this flagrant psychopath of his powers in this Alliance. You're ignoring some facts...

Whenever something is judged (either outside and in court), there's the "letter of the law" and "the spirit of the law".

Usually, less informed people are guided by the a slightly perverted "spirit of the law" which means whatever way the "spirit of the law" is presented on a media channel.

CCP saying that to the media would be bad news. Media creates a good or bad reputation for your game. Media goes for anything ranging from printed/online newspapers, TV, blogs, forums and so on.

Especially for online media, outburst such as this event is a God-sent. It's one of the things that bloats their traffic and increases advertisement values ending up with positive cash flow on their end.

An inflammatory news header is the latest rage on the interwebz even though they may have to distort things a bit... The average "consumer" would swallow it up and think it through the "spirit of the law", while the news provider would be covered by following the "spirit of the law" with regards to how facts are presented.

Drama feeds the wallet in real life just like it does in EVE especially when you have Goon-affiliates posting the way they do. PR people live for this kind of things.

Would this have reached this level of care if it had been anyone else on the csm panel? No.

The only reason this is being brought up is that some buthurt people saw an opening to attack The Mittani and try to get him removed.

So, the only real question is will ccp see this for what it is - a thinly veiled attack of opportunity, or will they start banning people in Eve for harrasment, racism, discrimination, hatred and griefing? Because there wont be many people left if they do.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.
