I'm suicidal because I say I am. If anyone says anything bad about me they should immediately be banned.

Goddamnit, I called dibs!

You're a goon, no one likes you.
I get his stuff.

Well, I would normally disagree, but we intentionally role play assholes, so I can't argue with that point.

Plus your name + personal corp name is kinda neato, so... Yeah, I vote Wuxi Wuxi Woowoo gets Kaivar's stuff. Any objections?

Ok, so lets recap:

* Mittani gets in with the biggest Mandate in CSM history. (Deal with it.)
* The pubbies **** themselves in impotant rage. The Meme about "Goons only voting for Mittani" won't work cause he has 4000 more votes than there are Goons in the game, so obviously the morons will need something else...
* Some made up controversy about Mittani mocking some botting reject hits the airwaves
* ... That'll work: "ZOMG GOONIES ARE BAD! BAD BAD BAD!!"

Protip: If you say "I'm going to kill myself," it means you're not going to kill yourself, you're trolling for attention. People who do commit suicide do not engage in bilateral communication immediately beforehand. Doing so is a sign of attention whoring, not suicide.

What we had is some fat afk botting pubbie running, what, 22 bots at once? And Goons announced they would kill him, and then killed him (which he didn't notice cause he was afk botting), which is a good thing -- because bots are literally killing EVE. Upon getting his ass gently placed upon his head like a hat by the Goons, he tried to rant and guilttrip them as best he could.

All of what you have posted is fine.

The problem is that as soon as the The Mittani stood up whilst being film at an official CCP Event, mocked and humiliated a person who possibly could been suicidal and then encourage others to do the same, the **** was always going to hit the fan.

When CCP, their Partners and Investor's are seeing headlines like

"CCP launches investigation after Eve Online FanFest panel accused of mocking suicidal player" - eurogamer.net

"Eve Online Panel Encourages Harassing Suicidal Player" - The Escapist

"CCP investigation into 'suicidal player jokes'" - Developer

"CCP investigates player panel that encouraged cyber-bullying" - Massively

Then then it becomes an issue outside of Eve Online.

Not really. That is just that these sites post sensationalist crap without any investigating into the matter.

If anything, CCP should act against these sites for spreading lies when the guy that Mittani mocked apparently isn't suicidal. Much less depressed.

Yeah they should probably muster the international e-lawyers and have those sites SHUT THE HELL DOWN because in criticising the Mittani they obviously hate america (and democracy) ((and too much beer))

so the problem was too much beer?
so i am oke with that.
lets wait and see if anybody else outside this commumity is also ok with it

Trying to convince someone to commit suicide is criminal. In most countries The Mittani would be charged with the following (if the person in question actually commited suicide):

Aiding and abetting, accessory before the fact, and if they wanted to push it, manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, or homicide.

What you would be doing is advocating someone to take their own life which is homicide.

And this irresponsible 'child' is the head of our new CSM?

Arroggant, loudmouth p***k!

Most countries are run by morons who feel the need to run everyone's private lives, where personal responsibility is never taken into account. It's ridiculous to think that this drunken trolling will lead someone to take their own life. The only person deserving blame here is the moron who sent that tear-filled pity letter, using terms like "suicide" to evoke a sympathetic response.

Obviously it requires ridicule. I've been ridiculed in a much more demeaning manor for not fitting my ship correctly....

The ONLY reason the videogame press has picked up on this is because of CCP's lame response to it... It's not hard to "investigate" a recorded panel discussion, and write a quick press release limiting exposure and yet taking action putting this issue to rest. All they've done is make the issue bigger than it should be.

I would like to call for the resignation of “The Mittani” in regards to his complete misconduct during the Fanfest 2012 Alliance Panel. Per CSM Representative Conduct article of the Council of Stellar Management, all active CSMs are bound to abide by EULA and TOS and are subject to immediate dismissal and permanent exclusion regardless of infraction. As the representative of the best of the EVE players, more stringent stance is given as they are “expected to uphold the social contract that all society members are held accountable to, but should also set a behavior standard for everyone else to follow.”

For those who are unfamiliar with The Mittani’s misconduct, please refer to the link where he knowingly encouraged thousands of potential Fanfest viewers to send mails to an EVE player who has exhibited a history of mental instability, to provoke him to commit suicide.

CSMs are elected to exhibit the best of their behaviors, may it be in drinking, partying, or playing EVE, but knowingly encouraging other players to take part in a possible suicide of a player in front of thousands of EVE and non-EVE audiences crosses boundaries.

When asked to answer for his misconduct, he only gave a nonchalant answer. He should have been begging on his knees, apologizing for his childish behavior. If a no-name player like me incites thousands of EVE Online players to partake in an act to provoke a mentally unstable person to commit suicide, I would have been banned by CCP without question. By the tone of his postings, he is completely unapologetic of his misconduct. Is it ok that because he's the head of CSM, that he can do whatever he wants?

For the future of the CSM, please consider the dismissal of The Mittani from CSM.

EDIT #1
Great job, Mittani the Great. It seems like on the first week of your CSM chairmanship, you are able to garner a distinguished recognition from gaming website. Fantastic job. You make all of us look like idiots.

EDIT #2
Yes! Another media coverage thanks to Mittani the Great! Keep up the excellent work.

EDIT #3
Mittani the Great, you really know how to bring media coverage to our beloved game. A+ for your outstanding CSM Chairmanship. More media coverage!

EDIT #4
People say third time is the charm. Fourth media coverage? I am not sure.

EDIT #5
Let it rain. Another more thorough media coverage of Mittani the Great's awesomeness.

EDIT #6
This is certainly a HUGE NEWS now that MASSIVELY is involved. Refer to the following media coverage for in-depth report.

The only reason this is getting press coverage is because of idiots like you who make a big stink about it.

I would say that an apology would be sufficient, except that we all know that he would post the same apology with sarcastic commentary on other public/semi-public sites, and it would be a seriously insincere apology.
I don't think an apology would have any meaning from The Mittani here.

Mocking an attentionwhore is nothing that needs an apology.

What we will probably get is that he'll point out he was mocking a person who was breaking the EULA by running over twenty ******* bots at the same time attempting to play the guilt card on him and that he certainly does not wish for any player to kill themselves (Because dead players can't be sold nonexistent Titans).

lol

People still can't accept that encouraging someone to commit suicide is a criminal offense....guess he needs to find a good lawyer when **** hits the fan and something seriously bad happens.

The fact he was drunk .. meh. He comes into this thread, probably sobered up, and tells us to deal with it.

What makes you think I'm going to login to the game again? Eve is finished as far as I'm concerned. I'm only here because bullying and suicide is a serious issue and CCP needs to address it.

It's unfortunate, because otherwise he's done good things for EVE.

Well it's in CCP's hands now.
