What we had is some fat afk botting pubbie running, what, 22 bots at once? And Goons announced they would kill him, and then killed him (which he didn't notice cause he was afk botting), which is a good thing -- because bots are literally killing EVE. Upon getting his ass gently placed upon his head like a hat by the Goons, he tried to rant and guilttrip them as best he could.



All of what you have posted is fine.

The problem is that as soon as the The Mittani stood up whilst being film at an official CCP Event, mocked and humiliated a person who possibly could been suicidal and then encourage others to do the same, the **** was always going to hit the fan.

When CCP, their Partners and Investor's are seeing headlines like

"CCP launches investigation after Eve Online FanFest panel accused of mocking suicidal player" - eurogamer.net

"Eve Online Panel Encourages Harassing Suicidal Player" - The Escapist

"CCP investigation into 'suicidal player jokes'" - Developer

"CCP investigates player panel that encouraged cyber-bullying" - Massively

Then then it becomes an issue outside of Eve Online.


Not really. That is just that these sites post sensationalist crap without any investigating into the matter.

If anything, CCP should act against these sites for spreading lies when the guy that Mittani mocked apparently isn't suicidal. Much less depressed.


Yeah they should probably muster the international e-lawyers and have those sites SHUT THE HELL DOWN because in criticising the Mittani they obviously hate america (and democracy) ((and too much beer))

Here's what might happen. Mittens offers up a token apology, life goes on.

Mittens either steps down from CSM or gets removed. After a period of protest from the Goons in Empire, making thousands of people's game life a nightmare, the goons get a new rep and chair, life goes on.

I hope you are right. I am not a Mittani fan and I have teased the Goons in the past but I actually like having them around. They make things interesting and different and that is always a good thing IMO.

However, this is hitting right into a possible forming Witch-hunt in the USA. There have been several high profile cases recently and the boomstick has hit hard on the people who behaved like the Mittani did.

Mittani could really be in some trouble. I say that without any Eve RPG or anything...but as a Rl person.

I encourage the Mittani to step back and consider and act to protect himself. An Apology is a start. I don't want to see peoples' lives ruined over a game FFS.

In support of the OP I will make everything possible to spread the facts about this subject to as many people as possible until Alexander Gianturco aka "The Mittani" is dismissed from CSM and until all his EVE Online accounts banned for EULA and TOS violation.

Maybe the new marketing director with CCP will say bad publicity is still free publicity. Well, we'll see about that. I wonder what your partners Sony and Nvidia will have to say about this after they will receive also hundreds of questions about CCP supporting this kind of behavior not only in game but also in real life.Blink I have sent all the information I could gather on the subject to the following:

I would say that an apology would be sufficient, except that we all know that he would post the same apology with sarcastic commentary on other public/semi-public sites, and it would be a seriously insincere apology.
I don't think an apology would have any meaning from The Mittani here.
