Thats the annoying thing about this really. Fanfest was really excellent this year - I think most people have a huge buzz about the game going in the right direction again and thats what we should be reading about in the gaming press. Its a shame to see the focus on a bizzare ubernerd voted into office by 10,000 sycophantic internet frat boys because he couldn't hold his beer and acted like a tosspot on stage.

Here's what might happen. Mittens offers up a token apology, life goes on.

Mittens either steps down from CSM or gets removed. After a period of protest from the Goons in Empire, making thousands of people's game life a nightmare, the goons get a new rep and chair, life goes on.

God I'm not a mittani supporter in anyway, but I really don't care what he says or does in game or out of game as long as he just does well in the CSM.

The depressive will be a depressive until he grows some balls (I was one once so can say this) and if some computer game is going to make him top himself then he really need to step back and get some help

in RL, serious mental issues are not a joke. Making a joke about them is in very serious bad taste, reflecting quite poorly on the common humanity of the so-called joker. Taking actions that intend to provoke someone with serious mental issues into violence, whether self-directed or otherwise, is an actionable offence in many nations.

Fortunately for Mittens, he didn't make that joke, nor does he live in, a number of Middle Eastern or Far Eastern countries. In them, the relatives of the person he is apparently trying to provoke would reply and with deadly RL force.

Only in our oh, so sophisticated, Western culture do we act like such insensitive ingrates.

on a real note, something funny about IG chats, you have to accept them....it would be a neat number to see from CCP how many chat invites have been sent to [REMOVED], but than again it's probably a very low number and would only defuse this thread.


If the number is greater than 1 it will not defuse this thread.

The result isn't what people care about, it was the action and intention. Mittens seriously expressed an interest in trying to get a fellow player to kill himself, and instigated actions that would lead to such a result. THAT is what is unacceptable, and THAT is what CCP will be looking into while the playerbase expresses their disdain for such tasteless and pathetic behavior.
