The Wis made that choice of his own doing that he was going to kill himself or was thinking about it. The Mittani had nothing to do with that in the first place. I've had 4 people threatened to kill themselves. Are you saying I'm criminally liable for those idiots actions?


If you continue to harass them, and encourage others to do so "till they follow through", then yes, you are.

E) The whole cyberbullying is moot. The laws that were passed here in the United States in only 7 states are only to protect those under the age of minority. So The Wis is not qualified to to be protected. Nor will any action taken place today be applied retroactively by any future bills because our constitution does not allow for that.

Keep crying more NPC alt pubbies. Maybe eventually when Lady Gaga's dead from all the crack she does, she'll notice the cyberbullying happening here on Eve Online.


This is pretty accurate, realistically speaking.

I don't believe that anyone present thought that the scam victim was serious in any way, certainly Mittani didn't. If it had come across as a serious intention the response from Mittani and everyone else present would have been significantly different.

In fact, it would have been handled exactly the same as the well publicized incident not long ago where the police were dispatched by CCP to an individuals home in Iceland to ensure that he was okay, rather than made public at a game convention.

There was little to make anyone believe that there was serious intent to do self bodily harm, although that will not stop those that have ulterior motives or are completely uninformed yet insist on voicing their opinion anyway.

Perhaps you should consider how ridiculous it would be if the next time you make a mistake and via chat or voice coms make the statement "Oh, just shoot me now." and the next thing that happens is that you have police at your door to take you in for a psychological evaluation... or that your fellow gamers might be subject to punitive actions, either in game or out, if they don't report the incident immediately.

Mittani's statement, while humorous, was in poor taste in many (but far from all) people's opinion. However, it was clear that all present treating the whole thing as a joke and were not seriously asking people to harrass someone whom they thought to actually be suicidal.

Worst case scenario, a request for the Mittani to apologize might be appropriate... but that's about as close to a mountain as this mole hill should get.

I was not taking sides, I was only correcting someone thinking only "cyberbullying" applied.

I don't know enough to take sides and I really don't care to know. Context is huge to any argument, and I "wasn't there" to really understand.

We know the 5 or 6 of them are probably significant people and a bunch of whiners anyways who beat themselves to sleep. Especially they've got mental problems that they're afraid to reveal who themselves are.

There's an intangible line that cannot be crossed while remaining apart of a civilized society. And he crossed it. I like a good troll as much as the next person, but this isn't trolling. This is literally the behavior of a psychopath.

If CCP wants to allow someone that exhibits that behavior to represent them, that's on them. That the decision is not the 'civilized' playerbase's should not deter us from expressing our opinion on the matter.
