You are absolutely right, except there are several moral boundaries that a reasonable and thinking man shouldn't cross.

It's coming. I find it unfortunate that laws like this end up having to be made. Too often they are poorly worded and we end up with nanny-state like crap. I blew up your ship, you claim harassment, and I have to prove my innocence in court for the next 20 years. I say that believing in a sky fairy that answers wishes is stupid, and end up in jail.

People keep crossing the line though and it is those people who cause this kind of destruction to occur. They target people who they know are weak in some way, believing they are immune from harm as they attack and attack and attack (and they're probably right). This cannot be allowed and our legislature knows this....and they'll do something incredibly stupid in response.

I'm willing to hope that the statement was just idiocy and there wasn't any actual intent that people continuously harass someone in the game with hopes to get them to quit or worse. Although I support griefing, there's a point where it crosses the line and that's it.

It may make you feel better about yourself to claim that either way it's better for humanity, that even if the guy is suicidal you're helping clean up the gene pool (as you in fact did)....this has no basis in truth and exposes an inherent ignorance about genetics. It's just plain false and stupid. It can serve no other purpose than self-justification for an inherently mean-spirited, childish, and borderline sociopathic attitude toward others. It doesn't prove that you're strong, intelligent, rational people willing to accept the hard truths. Quite the opposite in fact. It's cowardice, it's ignorant, and it's disgusting.

So when laws are created that make it illegal to joke about people online, you can thank yourself for that. I'm not going to. I'll be too busy walking on the egg-shells that you created.

Anyway, all it takes is a jury. The law doesn't matter if a jury wants you punished. All they need to do it show that a person had the intent to provoke suicide.

The Wis made that choice of his own doing that he was going to kill himself or was thinking about it. The Mittani had nothing to do with that in the first place. I've had 4 people threatened to kill themselves. Are you saying I'm criminally liable for those idiots actions?
