But where is the proof of this? If there is no proof, then this is some kind of heresy....

You are wrong. Anybody who threatens suicide over a video game deserves to be mocked.

You are wrong. Video game or not, people invest in such things. Time, effort, money. What ever. A loss is a loss.

Please read the transcript of the former CSM panel during the Fanfest 2012 and watch the video of the Alliance Panel Presentation. I do not fabricate stories.

From 0 to 62 in one day. I think that says something about what the community thinks.

If the community can get CCP back on track after Incarna, I'm guessing the community getting the mittani removed from the CSM won't be much of a problem for them either.

If nothing else, mittens just gave CCP it's first public relations disaster of 2012. I don't see that they have much option since it started to hit the gaming press. Mainstream press will pick it up soon enough.

See ya, mittens.

You can defend your overlord all you want. I know that anyone who does that is probably bluffing, and this guy is no exception. But even if there is a slight chance of it being true, you can't publicly encourage people to mock him until he commits suicide, even less if you represent a community.

Wildfire. This things got legs.

Because the same unsubstantiated story has appeared on two websites nobody has ever heard of? lol

Doesn't matter. The spread of news is exponential. Ninety percent, or probably more, of news outlets get their stories from other news outlets. Once its on the radar its only gunna spread. Also, almost no one reads news and thinks " Hmmm, maybe this isn't true."

Sorry, not trying to ruin your day Harlot, this is just how things are. =/

Believe me, my day is not being ruined. The more publicity we get the more people we get contacting our "Recruiters" in-game.

Mittens took the "I'm anonymous over the interwebs, therefore I can be a ****" attitude far too far. Saying this kinda **** in front of thousands of people...

You have to also consider the other players as well who saw this and thought it was pretty messed up, but who aren't vocalizing their opinions on the forums. I urged the ones who Eve mailed me (after seeing my gripe in a few rage posts right after the panel) to contact CCP about it.

It's likely we'll see a response one way or the other from CCP. I also worry that this might put a damper on this year's otherwise awesome fanfest. This is why we can't have nice things Oops

So in the future anytime somebody gets scammed all they have to do is threaten suicide and CCP will have to cave in to them?

He was not mocking someone about threatening suicide, he told people to make someone kill himself. You can say he was just kidding, but in the grown-up world that doesn't work very well.

I think you're smart enough to know all that, and are just playing dumb.

The point is, he should know better as the highest representative of the player base. This is politics and since he's a space politician, you'd think he would've known this.

That way, your vote with your wallet will encourage CCP to not allow any of this type of behavior which is a *bit* too prevalent in Eve....

You aren't allowed to do that anymore. Trust me.

I just checked, I'm pretty sure I'm still allowed to press the unsub button...

Some actually do come right out and say it. Had a friend of mine tell another that he was going to. Was pretty pissed off at the guy for a long time because he never did or said anything about it....and dude killed himself. Was a really good guy.

You will report out-of-game issues regarding harassment, such as threatening phone calls or correspondence, to your local law enforcement officials or Internet provider. CCP will not reveal personal information about its subscribers to unauthorized individuals. We are not responsible for actions taken by our subscribers that occur outside the jurisdiction of our game servers or web site.

If Mitty would have destroyed that conference room the panel was in CCP would have had to pay to have it fixed. I would say it was in their jurisdiction. It was the eve fanfest, not Mitty's goonfest.
