Doesn't really matter, though. It's not like we need several EULA violations to justify his boot. Simply telling thousands of EVE players to drive another player to suicide is more than enough.

And if he was really a lawyer for any length of time he'd know the "just joking" defense doesn't stand.

Wow, I tried to read all the posts before posting, but everytime i got to the bottom of the page, a new page was added... damn..

Anyways, from the start, I assumed this was a made up story. I assumed this because the narrative of it seems to tell what the goons are about. If someone had threatened suicide and no suicide note is found with "MITTENS MADE ME DOEET @ FANFEST!!!!!" then it was a lie and it was a troll. You all been trolled.

On the other hand, if someone did killed himself because of the mittani, there'd be legal implications because of the recent bullying case where the verdict was guilty. And proof is all over the internet and on his DA's computer.

TL;DR: Until a sucide note with "The Mittani made me do it" is found, you all have been trolled.... HARD!

I'm rather surprised that Mittani as a person renowned for intelligence, media awareness and "getting things done" did not recognize in time what this might end up with. CCP will have to react to it whether or not they would like to.

Headlines in regular papers such as:

"Gaming company supports harassing suicidal players".
"Player elected representative for large online game incites to harassing suicidal players"
"CCP condones suicide".
etc. etc.

If this reaches non-gaming media CCP is ******.

In order to keep a good chairman (the Mittani) he should suck up and make an apologia if not an apology, before this gets out of hand.

I did vote for Mittens. I still think that was kinda bad - as a lawyer, he should know better than to act like that. I'm sure there's some kind of legal loophole that could get him chucked in the slammer for 20 years and earn the prosecutor $20,000 an hour Roll

Doesn't matter. The spread of news is exponential. Ninety percent, or probably more, of news outlets get their stories from other news outlets. Once its on the radar its only gunna spread. Also, almost no one reads news and thinks " Hmmm, maybe this isn't true."
