Were the Creation only skills like Genetic Engineering and Mneumonics that were recently removed part of this clean up?
Are the other rare skillbooks alson in danger of being removed? Like Salvage Drone Operation....

I wanted to say that Greyscale completely lost it, but that would imply that he was competent to begin with.
I guess my appreciation thread was not so bad after all.

There is enough material to send to some gaming websites, I think they would like to run an article on the goings at CCP.

Then again, Greyscale can do pretty much anything without the risk of getting fired, history has proven that.

Cue articles on every major gaming site in the world. No, I don't quite think they're going to ban me for fighting for my assets/career :P

Heh... that sounds like a threat! I like seeing the fire. ...that said, I think you might be getting a bit big for your britches. While I realize you are probably one of (if not just "the") the most prolific collectors in all of gaming and in one of the most challenging environments, I think CCP would kick you as easily as I or anyone else. We are very replaceable and insignificant from what I've seen. I don't think CCP has any concept of the word "unique". Maybe there's no Icelandic translation. It would explain a lot.

How about Mining Drone - UNUSED? Are you telling me that 3B that I've spent to acquire those items have gone to waste?

Leaving the items causes NO HARM to anyone. By deleting the items, you just caused the very imbalance that you tried to avoid, by enriching certain individuals, while depriving stupid PLEX buyers (Yes Me!) of ISK and actual USD.

Please return the Mining Drone -UNUSED or at least, convert those into Hellhounds I x 2.

You claim that deleting those items results in no economical detriments to anyone. Have you considered about the transaction costs that many individuals including Entity took, to seek and purchase those rare items that were originally seeded in the game through CCP's incompetence?

If you want to delete those items... it's fine. As long as you provide an appropriate compensation to those who spent time, money, and effort in acquiring those items.

Total dick move, deleting stuff, which just might make a new list on Cracked if they ever revisit the topic. Saves you what, maybe 100MB of database space at most? That's like blowing your nose before stepping on a scale.

That said, how can Mines truly be a collector item, if BPOs exist, they can still be produced, and due to the way EVE functions (no visible item creation date, serial number, etc) there is no way to tell between a 2003-built mine and a 2012-built one?

I'm from the Empyrean Age timeframe, so mines were unusable when I started.

A threat? This is just a hypothetical bull-excrement situation you suggested, and i'm playing along with it. I mean, come on. Why the heck would they ban me for complaining about them deleting my stuff when I have every right to be upset. RollRollRoll

Greyscale has already said they will be restored too.

If you guys really want a piece of history of eve, screen shot all your items and keep those in your computer.

A piece of history of Eve would be the first Quafe T-shirt, a Lego-Nyx, Leviathan dildo and so on. Pixels have no value if they don't belong to you...ho wait, that's exactly what it is !

Said pixels have value, actually. Like the hellhounds are ~2b or so. which equates to 4 PLEX. Your argument is invalid.

As far as I can remember the BPO has no build requirements of skills or materials and cannot actually be used to produce mines. It can however be used to produce BPC's.

Incorrect. I had thousands of them in my hanger.

When did you build the mines though?

hmmm... now that you mention it, it's been a while. I'm not sure. A year or two ago maybe?

Fair enough. I only really remember trying to build them on BPC's. I think I may have just assumed it didn't work with the BPO's. I would test it out if i stall had them :P

Testing after/if we get them back may not prove anything either if they mess with them.

We have the tools...

Those are the stats on the BPO from the Crucible 1.2 (341054) database.

I really like that site.

btw - I don't see what the point of messing with the stats of something you can't even use would be, other than to give a big finger to the player base.

If that applies to the copies then I guess my memory has failed me. I guess if they can still be produced then the mines themselves shouldn't be all that rare or worth anything. Id like to think my BPO still held some value though.

Yah mine BPOs were going for about 300 mil or so. The mines were going for very little in contracts, but it was a good place to start out for people who wanted to start collecting unique items or for people who were profiting from collectors. I know a couple of people who were making a few ISK selling mines.

Yea, I seem to remember using bpo's without any issue recently. Not sure that build requirements were ever changed.

They made R.A.M. build times virtually 0 at one point, It didnt result in any bans.

Lets just hope this "DEV" doesnt deem tech2 bpo's to be something he "Thinks" in his own little world .... well .... that players shouldnt have.

Personally... I think they should move him to other jobs... Feeding the fish in the fish tank.
