How about someone at QA remembers that patch day being plural might amount to Subscriptions being singular.

Got home to my main computer and having problems with the patch as well. Very 'nice'.

Or perhaps the players can remember that every MMO has had a bad patch here and there. Not to excuse CCP for failing to fix issues pointed out to them in testing, but really, threatening to quit makes you look like a whiny child. Stomping your feet and crying won't make them work any harder on the issues they're already working on.

I think everyone but you has understood that the point is not that they aren't working on the issues. but should have worked on them BEFORE they launched the patch, not after. You should really try to understand the meaning of your slogan and maybe provide players with some game they can log on to entertain themselves or give them the money they paid for the subs instead of making yourself look so wise.

The issue you are experiencing has nothing to do with 64 bit support. There are currently 37 000 players online TQ, a lot of them are running on a 64 bit OS.

What you are experiencing is something else. Have you tried rebooting your computer and then without starting any eve client or anything else, run the repair tool.

The reason why you will have to reboot is to make sure that there are no locked files from other programs.

Please let me know how that works for you.

I see my 4th post was ignored like the other 3. If you had not of ignored it you would see that I myself tried the ~forever alone customer service~ advice of rebooting etc etc.

Can we stop with the first line technical support "is it plugged in" stuff now and move on to either removing the patch from the server for additional testing or an actual fix? By fix I mean a file which we can download, double click and wow look EVE works, not a "if you bury a frog in the garden and sing Maria in the bathroom mirror 3 times then try repair.exe" kind of fix please.

Also issues...
Launcher failed at 14% 3 times, once with desktop crashs but i could do a "clean" reboot. One with a big freeze, no mouse, no keybord and nothing. Once with a nice bluescreen ! That's the first time i see one since a year on Win7 x64, but i am not sure that you should be proud of that Blink

I tried Repair tool.
It detect a new version, and download it automaticly. Launch new version, ran for a while but finally it fail after some progres with :

Traceback (most recent call last):

In the repair.exe.log, there is only this :

Just to update everyone on the situation:

We're aware of the permissions issues plaguing some of our users. We're actively working on a fix for this.

In the mean-time, please do the following:
1. Restart your computer
2. Run the Repair Tool without starting any other EVE-related process (ie Client, Launcher, etc) beforehand.
3. Navigate to EVE/bin/ and run ExeFile.exe directly.
4. Please reply to this thread confirming this work around, if it is, in fact, successful.

A few caveats about this approach. If you encounter permission errors on files during the Repair process, they may not have been completely updated to their latest versions. Therefore, you may not be running a completely sane client, but you might be able to get in-game.

Thank you for bearing with us while we sort these issues out.

-Restarted computer

-Ran repair.exe in EVE folder, got error msg "The repair tool found the following processes in the folder it is trying to repair: "C.\games\steam\steamapps\common\eve online\repair.exe" (just what happened last time before i restarted pc) (i'm running the game through steam and have it installed in its folder, dont know if that can be related to the issue)

-Ran ExeFile.exe directly, it launches the client, and the client runs the patch (i have now the one that i downloaded from the link you provided (evepremiumpatch349998) in my C:\Users\ravenwings\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_[]games[]_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache folder, it seems to install, but it is not starting the launcher, and if i launch the game manually it will loop the patching process again.

the problem is not the x64 system, you are right about that, it might rather be your new launcher win7 or x64 system support. however, let me tell you i have ran another launcher from Georgia Software for another games from Hi-Rez ( Global Agenda and Tribes Ascend launcher) and it works fine on my win7 x64

Yes, always been like that.

Then I've been playing something else the last years. I had only 2 kinds of rats in 1 belt e.g. supremacists and Obliterators but never more kinds in one spawn

I can safely say that it's always been like this, you can get mixed spawns with lots of different types/classes of NPC's though they're the same faction.

Troll ccp, its never been like this, they always used to be the same ones in a spawn, say - 2 serpentis port admirals and 3 serpentis infantry. now its like 1 serpentis port admiral, 1 serpentis rear admiral, 1 serpentis scout, 1 serpentis agent, 1 serpentis safeguard

As opposed to over 50,000 players that were online yesterday playing, of which I was three.

So how about you stop with the excuses and trying to make things sound perfectly ok since the majority of people are able to play while the rest of us are screwed as a result of an issue WE TOLD YOU ABOUT over and over and over again for MONTHS.

Just stop posting until you fix the problem. All you're doing is pissing people like me off who took the time to be part of the process to debug the game and you lot couldn't be arsed to pay attention to in the first place.

BACK THE PATCH OUT OR REFUND MY GAME TIME.

Every day I am unable to play all three of my accounts is TIME I EXPECT REFUNDED TO ME.

It's not my fault CCP didn't bother to listen to me when I replied about the problems on Sisi. It's YOUR FAULT for not taking the time to pay attention.

Hi Lovelocke,

I have looked through your replies and it seems that you had issues pasting the logs for the issue because of the HTML in it. This makes it difficult for us to help you with the issue you're having.

We are releasing a new repair tool and a new launcher which should resolve all issues that we have managed to get information on and fix to date. If you continue having issues after this has been released we will have to take a look at the log which is generated. You can for example file a bug report, zip up the log file and attach it to the bug report and then tell me the bug report ID and I will gladly have a look at it tonight.

I very much apologize for the inconvience and I hope you see that we are trying to do everything we can to get those who are having issues back up and running again. The workarounds posted previously in this thread has helped quite a few people, because the issue they have is that there is a process in the background which is preventing the launcher from updating itself and the client.

and paradoxically, those processes are the repair.exe and the launcher.exe themselves, which get active once you double click the file, or write their name on the command line

how am i supposed to kill those processes and have the tools working at the same time? thats beyond my comprehension, restarting my computer doesnt fix that

This implies that there is a process running in the background which is holding on to the file which the repair tool is trying to update for you.

To work around this problem, have you tried restarting the computer (this will make sure no other processes are hanging on to the .stuff files) and without starting any eve clients or launchers in between star the repair.exe from the eve folder. See the post below for step by step instructions.

Please let us know if that works or not.

1. Open task manager
2. Close the Launcher.exe
3. Close the repair.exe
4. Navigate into the EVE folder where you have the client installed
5. Start the repair.exe

This should work.

LOL really? no it doesnt, it just poped the message saying that repair.exe or launcher.exe could not patch the game directory while files inside it (launcher.exe and repair.exe) are in use. thats the paradox.

but i just deleted all the files in the cache folder and now ran repair.exe, it seems to be downloading a new patch. will see if that works for me

Character Sheet Skills Tab - none of the skills under each section is alphabetically sorted anymore Sad

How come Eve Online, as a game, spreads it files over 4 directory's eg -

%User%\Application Data\CCP\EVE

%User%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE

%User%\My Documents\EVE

Main Game Directory

It would be great if all files could somehow be collated into just the main install location. Say I have a SSD for my main windows drive, which is quite small, and I have two separate hard drives in RAID 0 for all my games, programs etc. But I play Eve, and it insists on putting thousands and thousands of files onto my Windows drive, even though I have asked Eve to install on my game / programs drive. Why does Eve still work like this and why is it not able to just keep everything neat and tidy in the main Eve install folder, like a patches folder, repair / tools folder, character data / settings for example. I'm sure this sort of tidy folder layout / location would be welcomed.

Great stuff on the Crucible update guys, and look forward to Inferno Big smile
