Is there any way to force the thumbnails to never show up?

Right now my use case is just to use this program to hotkey my windows, and I'd rather not see the thumbnails popping up every so often. Checking the "Force hide" checkboxes accomplishes this, but these checkboxes reset every time I re-open the program.

EDIT: This appears to be a workaround for the time being:

You mean to disable the thumbnail view for one particular client? Unfortunately no, this setting i not persisted (yet)

As a work-around, we can use the settings file to place the thumbnail off-screen.

For example, say we have a 1920x1080 pixel monitor and want "hide" thumbnails during character select and for a certain character. Just open "EVE-O Preview.json" with a text editor and add/edit the following lines:

"FlatLayout": {
    "EVE": "1921, 1081",
    "EVE - Character Name": "1921, 1081"
}

Now those thumbnails are just one pixel off the bottom right corner of the screen, never to be seen again! This is useful for avoiding that thumbnail spam stack when launching many clients at once, or to always hide every thumbnail if you only want automatic client positioning*.

Interestingly, the generic "EVE" thumbnail shown at character select can't be placed off the left side of the screen even though character specific thumbnails can. To keep it consistent and easy, I just place them all off the bottom right.

*As a bonus, here's what client positioning and sizing looks like in the config file. Maybe I misunderstand the program, but I can't get EVE-O Preview to generate this even with "track client locations" checked, so hopefully this helps someone else.

"ClientLayout": {
    "EVE": {
        "X": 448,
        "Y": 156,
        "Width": 1024,
        "Height": 768
    },
    "EVE - Character Name": {
        "X": 0,
        "Y": 0,
        "Width": 1024,
        "Height": 768
    }
}

Assuming a 1920x1080 monitor and 1024x768 clients, this will place the logged in character at the top left while centering clients still on character select. When editing for your own use, make sure you update the Width and Height to match your client's resolution!

Depends on how busy I am with my RL work, how much time I need to spend to care on my cats and so on.

So the answer is - "as soon as it is ready"

Version 3.0.0 is available.

What's new and fixed:

  • Updated GUI
  • It is possible to minimize EVE client by Ctrl+clicking on its thumbnail
  • Thumbnails for non-logged EVE clients are always created in the upper-left screen corner
  • Application crash logs

The thing you described breaks EULA and is a bannable offence.

Nope

EOP is about showing ENTIRE and UNMODIFIED EVE interface.

PS I have to ask you to stop discussing such things here.

You'd need to wait for one of the next releases. I'll make this configurable.

Hi there,

thanks for all the effort that goes into this project.

Is there a way to make the thumbnails bigger?

From the readme.pdf contained in the .zip installation file Blink

Quote:
Mouse Gestures
Mouse gestures are applied to the thumbnail window currently being hovered over.

* Move thumbnail to a new position - Press right mouse button and move the mouse
* Adjust thumbnail height - Press both left and right mouse buttons and move the mouse up or down
* Adjust thumbnail width - Press both left and mouse buttons and move the mouse left or right

Or using via setting width/height in the main EVE-O Preview dialog

I've created a topic on the new forums site for EVE-O Preview:

https://meta.eveonline.com/t/eve-o-preview-v3-0-0-multi-client-preview-switcher/4202

Please post your questions, suggestions etc in the new topic, not in this one
