So I have finished going over all of the patch notes and changes that are coming and generally feel fairly down now over all.

Some changes make sense, like Super area of effect modules gaining a sensible activation time ect.

But some things are going into the dumpster that unfortunately impact me fairly heavily, fighters will now be priority targets for rats which means the entirety of a nullsec site will now target them first. And as a result alpha several fighters for all Carrier's save for the Thanatos. The increase sig radius is another major factor in the vulnerability of fighters.

I can see fairly clearly that ratting Carrier's will become a false economy in comparison to fighter loss per site.

Rorq's as stated are being nerfed essentially to a pointless state, it now makes more sense to have two hulks in a belt. And maybe if you really don't want to have a Orca in the belt then a Rorq to give them boosts while mining. Unfortunately I will not be expanding my active character numbers.

So why am I down?

Essentially Carrier ratting and recently Rorq mining has funded the game for me, it allows me to spend an hour or two now and then doing some dull PvE activity to fund PvP. Which consumes isk at a rapid rate.

After these nerfs I will be left probably with the option of going back to Ishtar ratting or using a Marauder which will probably equal 1/4 of the isk gains of my previous tasks. The Rorq nerf will essentially put a hold on my industry in its entirety, I will unfortunately have to close shop as I cannot handle having to buy the ore, or run enough accounts to gain the Ore required to run it profitably.

So as such, with the new baby in my life taking up time and not really being able to play EvE for the time span it will now take to be able to fund activities I find fun within the game post nerf, I will be liquidating my assets and moving my characters back to highsec, to once more go into hiatus.

I will still knock about on the LAGL post now and then probably, but far as paying and playing EvE goes it will no longer be possible.

Also: if R2D2 could speak... better no, seriously.

Well that is definitely sad news indeed. I'm sure there will be flames in the forums over those and other changes being done to the game. Your voice will be needed with others to hopefully make CCP see the error of their ways.

As for going on hiatus, I've sorta been on one for quite a while now. Don't get me wrong, I'm an Omega Clone and I do log into the game every once in a while. My main concern has always been to keep my character training skills. My hope is that CCP will pull their heads out of their arses and get back to making good creative content, fix the numerous bugs in the game and stop nerfing everything. Not to mention they need to stop drenching the game with UI 'Graphics' polish.

Well, that's the last stretch of road before winning EVE. At one point it just becomes obvious that what hasn't happened yet will not happen never, and the God of Balance requires that everybody loses his comfort zones over and over again.

Apparently it's just become set on stone that the Rubicon plan will take until 2020 to complete. So what was supposed to be a 3 years stretch in 5 years plan, has become a 7 years stretch of "space colonization" and little else. And this old crate won't float for that long.

Probably this is why I removed Ishtanchuk from everything but the music thread. She's more or less moved to Elite Dangerous and her tour of duty as a capsuleer has finished. Although E:D is not a greener pasture than EVE, at least it's not being thoroughly pooped over by a flock of Seagulls.
