Why does every character get to see everyone else's resume for free

It's sad employment history has been the way it is for like 15 years, that shouldn't be public information

There's too much info available in general

If you give your API to someone those are the people who should be able to see the info on your character

For instance, if you walk into a store and see someone standing there with a suit on, do you know he as a pizza delivery boy 10 years ago and then he was a drug dealer and now he is FBI - no ... but that's the sort of absurd situation you have in EVE. All this talk about fixing little things for 5 years, moving tiny pixels around that no one will ever see but the most glaring things left untouched

That was a real life example but there are plenty of ingame situations where it would be better if this info was unavailable and absolutely zero where it's needed.

Just list current corp and that's it

I know when you join the US Military and go for a Top Secrete clearance they will find out EVERYTHING you have ever done since you were 18.

This is about what we have in EVE, you are a capsuleer given command of a VERY expensive vessel, entrusted with countless crew lives and untold amounts of firepower. And you expect some random corp to take you at your word.

I dont know about you last time I applied to a job my resume had ALL of my previous employers. Because that information is publicly available.

Most people with career level jobs have a Linkin profile these days even like $15 an hour jobs people post a resume on job seeking sites like monster and stuff.


I think you underestimate how easy it is to find 90% people's work history even today. Eve is a world when you have your entire mind saved on a cloning companies computer waiting for a download so I would think knowing a capsuleers corporate work history would be very simple.

I'm talking about people that aren't in your corp, just random people can see your employment history and a bunch of other info on eve-who

They should change the history tab name to Linkedin because that's obviously the intended function of it right?

Couple of years ago I was looking for the phone number of an elderly friend whose wife just died.

I did find his phone number on the interwebs all right. Together with the church he belonged to, his bank, the clubs he was member of and some other details about his life in the town he lived in.

I'm sure he didn't ever use the internet. He too has been dead now for a couple of years btw. I still find a whole lot of information about him including the burying details.

It does give me the shivers sometimes.

Now looking at EVE... set 20000 something years in the future... Yes, I do believe we know everything we want to know about another capsuleer Blink.

Remove standings and insurance.

Evewho is a phenomenal resource. As for employment history, I get your hesitation but at the same time I can explain a brief stint in a piracy Corp as 'I wanted to try piracy and didn't like it' and that's more than acceptable for all but the most tinfoil-hat loving recruiters,

I don't think anything needs to be changed.

Eve is about decisions and consequences. If people can't see any information about the decisions you've made then where are the consequences for those decisions?

Where is your reading comprehension? People can still see it when you give them your API to join a corp etc

The option to make standings (raw or adjusted, faction or npc corporate) public like medals would be great.
