I sent the Dev in question a mail. He actually responded in a simmilar fashion to another user here:

The undocking of ponderous animation is still tagged to Dynamic Camera Movement. Considering the long delay then silence on fixing some lingering complaints on the New Camera, it might be a while before it's divorced from that checkmark toggle. Wasn't the other workaround involving zooming camera range?

There may have been someting, but why do we have to deal with a feature that isn't fully controlable and find a work around. The new camera went live at the start of the year if not earlier. How is it still not addressed.

The team is working on a lot, I get it. but at the point it feels like they are leaving stuff on the back burner and never going back to address player concerns.

Stuff doesn't seem to be left on back burners then somewhat forgotten to finish. Stuff DOES get tossed to the side then ignored for the foreseeable future. Personalized tracking added to the new camera is just one of the things falling through the cracks. At this point I'm very convinced CCP has bought it's own hype. Alas, companies don't do well long term when their customer interaction devolves to HTFU, instead of keeping that just in the gameplay mentality.

What's ironic is how many outside Eve believe CCP offers above and beyond excellent customer interaction and service. Their bubble's on it's way to bursting if they continue to shut down any voice that doesn't agree with some Vision. Now there's F2P. So we don't have to automatically pay and 'reward' CCP's customer interactions and decisions.

Snark at 11-24/7/365.25. Overshare? Yup.

Yes it's my fault. And if you don't staap it I'll do it again. ;-P

No you can't has my stuffs OR my SPs.

Well I will say one thing about CCP as a collective whole, their dev team does have good interactions with the community via Twitch, discord and slack, atleast they do try and talk to the community to gauge the mood about some changes. There are obviously times where things aren't great and the community and players butt heads, but I'll honesty admit that I've got a few devs I would happily buy a beer if I went to fanfest again.

Unacceptable.

That "Nope" just made me wonder if I trusted my money to the right people. It's not good for PR to give such answers to your customers. I mean, he could have said "We are sorry, but for reasons <...> we won't be bringing old Aura voice back. We are hoping that you will get used to the new one and enjoy our game." But they replied with "nope" instead.

Long answer: CCP probably won't revert the voice due to the scope of the NPE changes. Aside from the fact she's alittle fast at times I've learned to deal with the change on SISI and now on TQ.

As much as we want to get this back, sorry folks its probably not gonna happen.

No amount of revolt on the forums will be probably sway their minds to be honest. There have been alot of changes over the years that haven't worked out as intended.

CCP has a great opportunity to earn additional $ if they at least introduce old Aura voice for real cash. Honestly, I would even pay 5-10$ for that.

Another vote to bring back Aura.

At the very least, slow it down, take it down a bit in pitch, and add some reverb or something.

Oh, am I now? I am just sane enough to see that they won't won't revert this change unless they can profit from it. Every big company these days cares about nothing but money. We're small moneybags for those giants. "Nope" response perfectly visualize how much does their community/customers satisfaction mean to them.

So, I have some problems with the new Aura voice, and some suggestions on what could be done to improve it.

This game has always been one of the most relaxing games I have ever played. The visuals, sounds, voice, and music all played together to create this perception of absolute tranquility. Sadly however this new aura is completely out of place in this tranquil universe. She speaks too quickly and with too much urgency.

Imagine a star trek scene if you would. Your the captain of your ship and your sitting back in your chair, sipping on some tea as you command your ship. Old aura was like a Vulcan, no emotion or passion in her voice. She was calming and added to this sense of tranquility. Even in the most dire circumstances she was always calm. Now replace her with this new voice, and rather than the calm vulcan that adds to the serenity of your ship, you have this new ensign who panicks over the slightest thing. She disrupts the calm of your ship with every word she says, and there is never any calm in her voice. Yes you can shut her up, but then the universe around you is even more lonely than it was before.

My suggestion on how the new aura can be improved is simple. Guide the actor to be calm and relaxed. Speak slowly as if she rarely gets to say anything and she wants every word to count. As an additional point, I notice that whoever did the sound tried to replicate the reverberating sound of the old Aura. But sadly this new Aura just sounds muffled.

I truly hope you can fix aura's voice to be less annoying, as like I said, space is lonelier now without Aura talking to me.

What.....?

Ugh

thats a pretty terrible response to a PAYING CUSTOMER. This sort of response just highlights the VERY POOR customer service that CCP feel is acceptable.

They must hate money because I rather set mine on fire than give it to ccp now.

After nearly 10 years feel really let down with the way they treat people but sure they are backed up by those drone players who defend them at everything.

Devs, do you even care if we stay? What did we do to inspire you so thoroughly to detest us as your playerbase? Are you so arrogant as to think your success doesn't hinge on how many people play? I am baffled and confused regarding this "expansion", and your attitudes toward us as your players and the heart of your company. You took away all that we related to for a decade or more and then flippantly act like teenagers toward our reaction. If you no longer want us to play, say so clearly and stop with the subtle hints.

They don't care if any of us stay. All they care about are potential future customers.

Instead of letting your UI experts messing up perfectly fine interfaces, it would have been a really good idea to force them to create a better drone interface so we can actually have buttons for attack, return, orbit etc.

Thanks realizing they could have put those hours to fixing the damn drone interface everyone hates, instead of what they did to the character one that no one was complaining about until now, just made me sad....

+1

There's a lot of things they could have fixed instead of giving us that disaster of a UI.

That thread is like a minature version of how any criticism of any of CCP's bad ideas plays out.

People complain about it being a poor change, hastily executed --> CCP ignores all complaints and goes into turtle mode.

CCP please help, I'm struggling and worried about your new take on omega clone state.

Firstly I understand with eve now being f2p you guys need to put in marketing ploys too keep getting new sub and keeping old subs subbed.

my main issue is the x2 training speed its telling me i'm getting in the bottom left of my training queue,
I mean really ccp. not like alpha is so op i stop subbing to play alpha.
I mean its great for getting new people in the game, but reminding me everytime i look at my skill queue that i'm gifted with this x2 training speed is out right rediculous.
i'v already decided i wanted to sub (or plex) for omega please stop reminding me i'm on of the lucky individuals who thinks this game is worth 9.99 a month.
I clearly i do or i wouldn't be paying it.

peace, i love you CCP, stop trying to sell me your gold i'v already bought.

so far, i have to say it is nice to be able to play eve again. however i see a couple of mistakes in my opinion on the limitations for alpha clone.

1. mastery level for ships are way to limited. most cases you can maybe get mastery 1 even 2 at most.

my suggestion would be to allow all alphas to at least reach mastery 3 on all ships they can get the skills to pilot.

2. mining limitation of ships for alphas are set very poorly. frigates only? that is basically saying oh here have a trial account forever. not very incising for new players to want to get a sub, not to mention the difficulty for some of us old time miner that had moved on to barges now have to reacquire the frigate. i can understand the lock out from the industrial and capital ships even the high-tech variants of ships but he barges not so much.

my suggestion would be allow the barges to alphas at least.

for now that is all i have to say other then thank you for the first time attempt at setting up a free to play system in this awesome game.

I am glad we are actually back to general feedback and not stuck up on one devs response (I will neither condone nor approve here).

I underlined your most important point, not sure how you could get past it, stating what it is and accuse it at the same time for being exactly what it is supposed to be Lol

Basically I am surprised how open, accepting and generally condoning the paying players are of the alpha clone feature, because skills are a valuable (in both currencies) commodity. Everyone wants free Sp, but in the same manner nobody wants others to get them also. Twisted

That said, I think the alpha clones are at the moment as competent as can be allowed in the face of the possible (and massive) exploitation potential from the current and future players. Which probably is even a bigger concern compared to the skillpoint investment and value.

I'm still just pissed off about the change of Aura's voice. And the way CCP is (and isn't) responding to it certainly doesn't help.

I realize that you guys at CCP most likely have an attitude of "nobody likes changes, but they'll adapt" right now. But I can assure you, it is much more serious than that.

Have you any idea what kind of an impact it has on the game when you get annoyed every time you warp or dock a station? Especially when, at times, you do this every couple of seconds?

In the end I decided to just mute her voice because I came to realize that most of the time I was feeling more annoyed than ejoying myself while playing this game that I have come to love so much. Not at all the way I would've liked to solve this, of course. And I can't imagine you feeling good about your players doing this either.

By now I have, kind of, come to terms with the fact that you had to re-record her lines. I understand why. But why did you have to do such a shoddy job at it? That I don't understand. Because these new recordings simply just don't sound good. Not at all, in fact.
I mean, come on... Right now it sounds like two different women saying "Docking permission requested" and "Docking request accepted". Who in heaven's name OK'ed this?

If you had to hire a different voice actress this time, for whatever reason that might've been, then couldn't you at least have done your best to make these new recordings sound as similar as possible to the previous ones so as not to change the overall atmosphere and sound of the game? Couldn't you at least have done us that favor?

If that is indeed what you were aiming for then I'm sorry, but you have failed miserably. And I demand (I believe I can make demands since you expect me to pay you) that you either re-record it or fix the current recordings.
If, on the other hand, you purposefully went a different direction with regards to the sound of her voice, then I demand an explanation as to why exactly you thought this was a great idea.

I sincerely hope that you will have the common decency to give us a (kind and proper this time, please) response on this matter. Especially since such a vast amount of your customers have shown themselves to be dissatisfied with this.
And I can assure you, it's not just us on the forums who are dissatisfied. I have spoken to enough people in-game to be able to conclude that we are just the tip of the iceberg. The ones who are at least taking the time to make themselves heard.

Finally, I would like to end on a positive note, and say that I genuinely am happy with pretty much all of the other changes you have implemented. Some will take some time to get used to, sure. But they don't bother me.
So thank you for that, and overall I think compliments are in order for taking the game through this rough transition.
