Greeting capsuleers!

As we've promised, we are planning to reimburse any skill points that have been trained into the (now defunct) Racial Force Auxiliary skills. On Singularity now you should find that the following changes have occurred:

  • Any skill points that have been trained in any of the 4 racial force auxiliary skills (Minmatar Force Auxiliary, Amarr Force Auxiliary, Gallente Force Auxiliary & Caldari Force Auxiliary) will be returned as unallocated skill points.
  • Any racial Force Auxiliary skills that are currently scheduled to be trained will be removed from the training queue.
  • All remaining skills in the queue will be moved up to fill the spaces in the training queue.
  • All characters who have injected a racial Force Auxiliary skill will receive a full reimbursement of their value (500m ISK).
  • All existing copies of the skills will be converted to their equivalent racial Carrier skill.

While this change has been tested internally, we encourage you to log into Singularity and let us know if anything seems to be different from the changes listed above. As always, please submit a bug report from the help menu (F12 -> Submit Bug) if you find any problems!

Thanks and happy testing!

And what about ISK? It costed 0.5B per book.

Exactly this. I still have 10 of each book, that I wouldn't mind being refunded as promised.

Well spotted! The information in the op has been updated to include details of what will happen to uninjected skills and isk reimbursement.

When I logged to singularity, the character selection screen still listed FAX in training. Once in my hangar, I noticed the next skill in the list had just started training, meaning the ~12h between the reimbursement happened and I logged in were lost.
I have no way of checking the accuracy of the unallocated SP given, unfortunately. Everything else looked fine.

Could we know when the change is landing in TQ?

Are you saying I have to inject the books to my characters to receive the 500M or I will end up with carrier skillbooks I have already trained?

because the racial carrier skill book is 500m base just like the forced aux skill book. just because some one bought a bunch of skill books thinking they could profit off them doesn't mean they should automatically get their isk back.. those that actually bought them to train the skill on the other hand should. but i don't even see what the fuss is, there's plenty of people getting into carriers now because of the change, selling them shouldn't be an issue since that was the intent of buying all the extra copies of the forced aux skillbooks anyways.

There is no mention of a may release on the 31st in the release planning? Also you might want to change the title of the news item from SP reimbursement to SP and ISK reimbursement to save you some obvious questions.

Indeed, the EVE Announcement page indicates 31/5, but the EVE Updates page shows the May release scheduled for 24th and there isn't another until June 23rd.

Thank you for the announcement. I've been looking forward to getting back all the ISK and SP I sunk into these skills.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Could you please poke me on Singularity or through EVE-mail and tell me for which character this was? Then I can check the details in our logs - but for your case the actively training skill should have been reimbursed with free skillpoints as part of the character selection process (which explains why the character selection window still displayed the old skill).

Regarding release date: This is indeed planned for Tuesday, the 31st of May. The release on the 24th is unrelated to this.

Sorry, this is unacceptable. What are we supposed to do with 20bil isk worth of carrier skillbooks we don't need? The only reason we bought them was because they were new skills that were required for the new ships.

Reimburse the isk or face the flaming thread of doom.

That's kind of a bummer. I bought 1 skill book. When it was announced they were not going to implement the skill, I left ihe skill book in my hanger. Since then my corp/alliance has moved way across the universe. I never thought to bring it with me because I figured CCP wpuld handle a simple refund. Now I have to risk going back to where we used to be in space, then move the book up to empire space and potentially pay sales tax/brokers to get reimbursed? This plus the time I'll need to physically invest to retrieve the book makes me want to just walk away from it shaking my head.

Hopefully CCP will be willing to consider a workaround for all us who have books seeing as they have been holding our ISK interest free for what several months now?

While "I" am not personally plagued by this particular issue, I do agree that the current FA skill books should be reimbursed rather than converted

Some folks did buy them to make a profit off of and some just bought them to have them in a book can for folks who were training that route, but to be fair, since they were released and then squashed by CCP, the fair thing to do is approach it the way the rorqual BPOs were approached.
ISKS to the wallet of the hangar of the corp or pilot and isks to the pilots who have the skill injected along with the reimbursement.

and lastly, it's not "MY" place to tell you (CCP) how to approach any given situation, but, in this particular case, I'd at least urge you to consider it.

:P
Thanks guys and gals

You are right, it is not your place. Read the EULA. CCP owns your char, your ships, your items, your plexes, the time you have spent in the game and everything you have achieved during that time. The way that they handled the fighters issue ( where they simply forced everyone to buy 100mil isk skillbook + 45 days training time just to be able to use the same fighters they used before ) made this very clear to everyone involved.

If you dont like it, there are plenty of "can i haz your stuff" players around.
