Update to the Launcher and the repair tool - Fix inside!

I have not been in eve online for about 2 weeks.
When I try to open the EVE Laucher it tells me:

Failed to download update for EVE Online Launcher

I can not run the repair tool, because I have it not in my folder. When I try to download the new repair tool from
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/352/repair.exe

It is unable to download the repair.exe due to connection issues...

So.. what can i do?
Wait a few days and hope for the best?

Thanks for looking into this AND FIXING IT.


Second complain is, that while its nice to have a fancy nancy launcher, it annoys me to no end that this thing is broken as **** and i cant play without getting it updated. Please improve your QA and fix it. Thanks.

I can report similar problems. The launcher can't get the updates. If i run repair.exe i can download about 500-700 KB before it stops downloading.

Same, also connecting from Germany.

I finally managed to get a launcher v.2.2.994275 from a friend and am at least able to download the patches.. but I need 1h for 13mb if it manages to download the patch completely. 50% of the time the launcher just crashes.

And if I then manage to log into the game, i usually get a "Socket closed" after 2min. If afterwards I manage to stay online for longer then 2min and I try to log in the 2nd client - that one takes 10min to load all resources :(

Thankfully, I am an experienced MMO player, and knew to come to the forums to see if there was a similar issue to mine. However, having a warning box pop up and say to run an executable that simply is not present, doesn't fly. This, even an old version, should be part of the game download so that players don't have to go someplace else to find it. Repair tool running now and patching.

Went to run EVE today. Got an error that one of my files may have "modified, damaged, or corrupt files". I am told to run the repair tool or reinstall the whole client. The file in question is mapObjects.db in c:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\staticdata

Ran the repair tool, still broken. Intentionally deleted the file so it would replace. STILL BROKEN.

I am NOT reinstalling the entire goddamn client because a file FRESHLY DOWNLOADED is broken.

ETA: The repair tool auto-updated itself, but just to be sure, I DL'd the latest and ran that too. No change.

ETA: Fixed... with no further action on my part.

Going into EVE failed today for me
Following the instructions at the beginning of the thread worked, but am I going to have to use eve.exe instead of evelauncher from now on?

Since I've downloaded the new launcher, which was approx. 1 week ago. I continually get logged off. 'Closed Socket'.
This is really starting to jack me off. I can't play the game when I'm logged off every 10 minutes.
This is ridiculous. Please check this out.
It's obvious I'm not the only paying client who has this issue.

Yet another launcher issue. I'm wondering if anyone else here has submitted a support ticket in the past few weeks & could give me an idea on how long of a wait you had for any type of response.

I did spend many hours today trying to repair, patch, work-arounds, went through so many old posts looking for similar issues... you name it. I uninstalled, cleared out the registry, reinstalled, rebooted, deleted the launcher, reinstalled the launcher.
I then wiped my drive & reinstalled everything & patched & updated only to have the same issue.

Even after doing all that, my support ticket still sits there unread, on a new & improved 486 running win xp that support staff now have.

Update 12 hours later, no response from support.

Final update, nothing from Support as they're probably very busy with everything else from this week but, I got help from a Dev that has notthing to do with Eve & I can now use my launcher.

I hope that they don't mess with it anymore.

So I think my issue will be lost in a flood of people having issues after patch messages

I am unable to play eve online for 7 days now, closest thing I can get is to log in for few seconds/minutes before I get socket closed message and bye. I reinstalled eve multiple times, tried few fixes when it looked like port problem, had the long ABCDEF-GHIJKL-XXXXX mistake and even reinstalled windows in despair- solution found? none. I dont even know which issue is it really because I posted in thread Socket closed-launcher only, but I get multiple socket closes randomly, in launcher and in game. Some times it is stuck on Login-processing data, Sometimes in loading faces. Sometimes when I undock, open inventory. It seems like a issue which not that many people and because it is already 7 days without fix and people look kinda okay with it. Funny thing is I even wasnt capable filling support ticket because that was also broken- another 20 minutes lost just for no good reason.

Connection Timeout - The server did not initiate the compatibility-handshake within a reasonable amount of time.

Any ideas here? I am sick of spending any more time on something which will probably will get no response or end up in a support-binman service.

Just downloaded new launcher update 15 minutes ago. Now the launcher will not even open, I get an error message pop up which states



So I went through this thread to find a solution, downloaded latest repair tool and ran it. Now I can log into EvE, however it appears to be the old launcher version, when I logged onto game the opening cinematic played and every single setting I had in game is now gone. How do I get the new launcher back so I don't have to go through the pain staking process of setting up 12 characters again or did I miss something in the thread?

I have been out of town for a few days and returned to a launcher update and now I get 3 different entry point errors when I try to launch. I saw earlier repair tool fixed but kinda hoping I don't have to delete all my settings in order to fix. I need something to fill my eve hole...

CCP Cascade - I am so happy you made this thread. After messing about, I finally got EVE run a .msi within a PlayOnLinux virtual machine and since the Launcher is so @#$% I had to find the missing repair tool .... AND it even updates from this!!!
