The point wasn't that CCP shouldn't be looking out for the welfare of their employees, or that devs shouldnt have food, it was that if I was the paying customer of a company whose service has been unaccessible for over 6 hours (and I am), what I'd like to see to give me confidence is a detailed explanation of the problem and photos of people WORKING on it (even if they're having pizza at the same time), not pictures of devs hanging around a table having pizza with a game room in the background. Maybe I'm less hipster and my idea of PR is different but not really what I'd post with a mass of pissed off people on the forums.

Otherwise noones expecting people to work like robots. Though robots will likely be replacing us all soon enough.

Oh and a bit more detail on what's going on would be nice, we're not technical morons here, most of us can actually tell between our software and hardware and our frontends and backends (hopefully most people can generally tell between the last two).

Seriously though, if one of my company's customer's demanded that, we'd laugh in their face and drop them as a customer. They owe you nothing. They don't even owe you a status update; they're doing so because they're good people and like to keep us informed.

Its a bit strange this downtime for EVE, i am surprised that they can't drill back an update so that we can run a version which does not have this new update. Surly they keep a backup of the existing system which we could login and carry on playing EVE...

It seems very unprofessional to make changes to a system which could break the game without having a backup plan.. Where i work we can restore servers at anytime, before and after updates...

I am a bit surprised they can't restore a version before the update was applied.... Am I wrong??

Limiting the access to information is counterproductive . it only makes people wonder . lay it out , dont be afraid , we're not here to judge , we're here on the thread to know what's going on . Most of us understand IT enough to understand what goes on, Knowledge of what goes on will relax a lot of people . Everyone loves someone who levels and tells things like they are.
At least do an executive summary.
