I sure as hell hope I never work for the people who are complaining about the pizza. These are people working jobs and not slaves. It's not like anyone is going to literally die if EVE is offline an extra 30 minutes. I've worked in IT for 27 years. This stuff happens even with the best of plans. Try making a mistake that idles 10K workers and disrupts a customer base in the millions for six hours waiting for insurance payments, claim info and policy info. Been there, done that. I got my ass ripped for the error the week after we got it fixed, deservedly. Heck, I was madder at myself than anyone once we found the error. But everything was about staying calm and getting things fixed. In that case, it was a food break where I was able to clear my head and think of a new place to look where I found the error.

Just because they are taking a break and eating pizza, don't think for a minute they aren't thinking about the problem. Keep at it CCP. I know you'll kill that bug!

As you’re all aware, Tranquility is still offline after today’s scheduled daily downtime.

This is due to an issue with a code deployment today while patching for a few fixes in EVE Online. The issue caused the cluster to fail to start up correctly, and as such, Tranquility is currently unavailable for play for both EVE and DUST.

Our operations and development team are working on this issue as we speak, and we’re hoping to have Tranquility back online for you guys as soon as possible.

Right now, we don’t have an ETA for when the cluster will be back online and accepting connections, but we’ll keep you updated in this thread.

I'm proud to be a poster in this rapidly growing forum, while not quite as satisfying as clicking 'deliver' on a T2 cruiser or exhumer, I can still see that I am a small part of a big thing.

As someone who has written just enough code to know how bad it can suck, you guys have my best wishes!! I agree with others in that an ETA and some compensation would be amazing!! But I also just want you CCP guys to know that as much as some of these assholes are flipping out about the down time and trying to assess blame. I for one just appreciate that you guys are there giving it your all to get us back up and running!!
