Pretty sure they stopped teaching that fairly recently. Now it's all about wringing your hands if someone somewhere somewhen says anything that might impact your self esteem.

Anyway, on the actual topic of this, I am interested to know if this is actually the same DDoS, or if it's just the servers crapping out in an aftereffect from the first one.

In particular since, as best I can tell, the entire game dropped off for everybody at the same time.

Yea but people can sensitive now days. We live in a society where peoples identity revolves around their race or sexual orientation so when you make fun of that it crushes their whole world.

I'm not saying any form of racism or other discrimination is acceptable... It's not!

What I'm saying is people are very sensitive today. You call me a whatever because of my race, religion, or whatever else you find about me and I'll just look at you like you're stupid... I'm not going to let someone like that bother me in the least...

And some of us are actually gay and some of us have been on the receiving end of physical blows while said word was being used in a not so nice manner. So while you may compare me to some whinny feminist word policeman I don't give two damns about your right to say the word that's fine.

But being a belligerent jack off is going to get you called out for being a moron for using language. So forgive me if you think the word *** means bundle of sticks. That's a pretty slippery slope though, because you can use that to justify reimbursing over things like spotty internet connections on the client end, power outages, etc. And I'd rather that didn't happen, because you can easily arrange these things to happen if things aren't going your way in the game.

Probably a variation of the earlier DDoS, since the server appears to be up in the launcher, but can't be reached when you actually try to log in.

It isn't EXACTLY the same DDoS because when that took place i couldn't log in at all, and the launcher couldn't even get the status of the servers.

(In all srsness, dude, it's a video game. If you lost something due to unscheduled downtime, just file a polite support ticket (key word is POLITE) and put yourself in the shoes of CCP - provide links to information that proves this loss, provide all information that would be relevant if you were the person looking over your issue, and then just be patient as a real human being is going to have to deal with your support ticket.)

It would be the same as if you logged off in space, most likely your ship will warp off and be fine until tomorrow.
