Can you tell me which browser and possibly add a screen shot.

I have been monitoring it all day and been on EVE since 7am and nobody has reported major issues.. only minor.

IE and chrome.

If I log in via the IGB it has been working fine. I get our WH map, everything looks good.

If I log in with the same account out of game in either browser I only get rens as a system on the map. Even if I add our home system in preferences I only see rens.

Also, none of the notes I have put in today via the IGB have persisted. When logging in later in the day all of the notes are gone.

[edit]

All of my corpmates have mentioned the same issue out of game

[second edit]

I completely cleared the cache on both browsers as well.

Most of the issue you and others are having is from page cache. Ctrl-F5 multiple times OOG and IGB -> Options -> General Settings -> Clear Browser Cache multiple times too.

Even then sometimes there are issues....

The issue is with the last patch I modified some core code - the browser cache is using old core code and not downloading the new code like it should. I don't know if there is anything I can do on my end but I will be possibly pulling an all nighter to try and fix or at least improve the situation.

Yea OOG I have cleared the cache and done CTRL F5 many times. Honestly I only ever used it with chrome so technically it would have been my first time loading it in IE. Still no joy. Let me know if I can be of any assistance testing etc.

I have completely disabled page caching on both Tripwire and Galileo. I am also debugging some issues with default options not loading correctly and hope to release a hot patch within the hour.

I am available right now on the Tripwire Public channel if you want to chat - could use some help with testing to make sure the fix works once I finish it.

Ok I have released a hot patch on Tripwire that should fix a majority of issues people are having. However there were still some others that this hot patch didn't fully help.

If your still having issues with seeing a chain let me know. The more users with an issue I can work with the faster I can fix things.

For those of you that this is affecting - I apologize. I try hard to never cause major functionality issues like this.

Damien,

I fixed my issue. It seems as though it wasn't the browser but rather the account in some way.

Even today when I tried again I was having the issue we were troubleshooting the other night. It would simply never show the chain, only rens.

So I decided to try some other computers that I have never used for tripwire before. I used the kids computer, same issue.

Then I tried an old macbook that my daughter uses. It was interesting as when I clicked on the home icon on the Mac I actually got a popup error about my home system not being set. I went in and there was a home system set. I know I had retyped the home system multiple times when we were working on it.

However I did notice the home system had a lower case j. I am not sure if this is significant. However I re-typed it with a capital J and boom it worked on the Mac.

I immediately went back to my computer and it is now working properly there as well.

I just figured I would let you know in case this helps anyone else.

Patch time again! Please be sure to logout and refresh your page to ensure you get all the needed changes!

Also note that because of the complete re-write of the settings/options code - your settings will be reset... sorry.

Here are the patch notes:

  • Finally fixed issue with IGB url not changing when viewing different systems
  • Adjusted chain map section control icons to the left a bit to avoid scroll bar issues
  • Chain map control icons now have a darkened background
  • Changed Cataclysmic Variable icon (old icon now for toggling viewing systems)
  • Added ability to favorite systems and then toggle them on chain map (trade hubs anyone?)
  • Chain map line coloring added for jump calculated systems (gray)
  • Chain map line for life & mass critical connection now shows red & dashed
  • Fixes to new flare back-end code
  • Options code completely re-written - many many many fixes
  • Icons refactored for better compatibility
  • Signature life of "1 Week" change to "7 Days"
  • Signature life of "28 Days" & "Infinite" added as options
  • Notes section now more reliable about updating/clearing

Also note that the missed Galileo server maintenance last weekend will be happening this weekend.

This week you won't be seeing a patch like the previous weeks - this is because Galileo is being completely rebuilt... yup, brand new server from the ground up. Also I will be doing some major account changes to finish bridging the gap to finishing this beta and adding admin controls. I am hoping to release the new servers and next patch the same week EVE Kronos arrives (June 3rd).

Server changes:

  • MySQL 5.5 (including table re-designs)
  • PHP 5.5
  • Major security overhaul + firewalls (even the passwords have passwords now!)

The biggest things with the server is the major performance boost gained from going from MySQL 5.1 to 5.5, and the complete overhaul of the sever security. Security gets a major boost in the form of SSL encryption on everything coming from and going to the server including 4096 bit encryption ciphers. We are locking down the servers so tight the NSA will be knocking on my door asking what I'm hiding.

As for Tripwire patch changes I can't say much at this point but my primary goal is finishing account changes and starting to add admin controls. I will post more details soon....

Hi Daimian

I thought I give it a try but seems I am not authorized to register. Do I need a special permission for this? For now now I would like to use it for my own travels (I may convince my corp to switch from Siggy in the future though).

Thanks
Sonny

Hi Sonny,

I have authorized your corp to use Tripwire. Have each member register their own account (alts can use the same account).

0 Mask, single character API is required to prove they are in your corp - this is used as permission to view your Tripwire data.

At first glance it looks and works very well. In many areas it is better than Siggy. The feature I miss most is mass sig update i.e. copy everything from the scanner and paste to update all Tripwire signatures. Perhaps something to consider as future dev? Keep up great work!

I am still in the process of major code changes so it is not open source at this time. I do eventually plan to release the code but at this point it is far down the road.

To get access simply shoot me an evemail and include the corps/alliances that want access.

Actually Tripwire does have a mass sig adding feature. Simply paste your copied scan results anywhere once Tripwire has focus - also Tripwire will only update sigs when your paste has new data... so paste as many times and as often as you like!

Just a quick update....
I will be delaying the next Tripwire patch another week or two. The next patch is going to be a complicated one and I want it to be rock solid before I release it.

There have also been some minor suggestions the past couple of weeks that I want to squeeze in... I will post more on those changes next week.

Last, I am also working on polishing up a design I have been working on for a new chain map rendering algorithm that will look pretty much the same but solve all of the flaws and weaknesses the current one has.
