I've got an escalation going with Comcast/Xfinity who "guaranteed" a 24 hour turnaround. (Note: To do this, you have to go through the normal tech support, then their level 2 support, then their Internet support).

Ditto on the event last night at ~2220. Congrats on getting the escalation. You've obviously trained "Patience".

I'm up in Napa in the north bay. Mine doesn't even show the TQ status. It just launches in offline mode and says the status is unknown. Tried cycling the power on the modem/router to no avail. Reset the computer. Still nothing. Everything on the eve website works and I don't have any other problems anywhere on the internet. Eve offline says TQ is up.

I haven't had this issue until today. This is really frustrating I'm a single father and there are only so many hours in the week I have to squeeze in game time. CCP can we get some kind of response please? We can all bother Comcast but it would be nice to know if there is any information regarding this issue from CCP's side.

Thanks.

The last non socket closed event in the file is 90 seconds earlier, but I did just activate a mission gate just after that and I don't know if those are supposed to be logged or not.

12:04pm California time is the last update time stamp on the log file.

Related to that, I noticed that both secure.eveonline.com and support.eveonline.com are hosted through that IP. At the moment, we can't even file a CCP support request because we can't get to the server. Interesting technical problem.

You may be hitting a different problem then, Minuir. I can get to these sites and they have different IP addresses:

support.eveonline.com. 2867 IN A 87.237.39.195

I am unable to get to eve support site, unfortunately.. I have been trying to submit a ticket since last night and like Minuir has mentioned in his previous post. Not sure if they are connected in anyway but both the client and eve support via web browser have not been connecting.

I'm in San Francisco on Comcast, having the same problem here all morning. If I start the EVE launcher it briefly says the server is "Online" but then quickly switches to "Status: Unknown" and says it's in "Offline Mode". I've tried rebooting my PC, Comcast modem, router, etc with no effect. As of 2:56 PM PST I am still unable to connect.

This has happened several times in the past and is obviously a recurring problem for Bay Area Comcast players, and is getting really frustrating. Has anyone been able to get any real answers out of Comcast or CCP about this at all?

edit: I also can't open support.eveonline.com so I am unable to file a support ticket with CCP about this. :(

and of course, now they say it is all CCPs fault.

CCP - any chance you would like to tell us what you did wrong? :)

Or slap comcast for all of us?

Thanks!

Ugg... it's now 4:48 PM and it's still down for me. Can anyone like.. submit a support ticket to CCP on my behalf? I can't even log in to the support site to submit a report about the problem. Does anyone from CCP even read these forums?

Thanks for the info. It's very interesting. I still can't make it to 170 (Still stuck in San Jose.), but the 195 goes through to CCP's servers. Just points to a static downtime page with some links in my browser. The URL doesn't resolve in the browser, so there's a name server implicated somewhere.

Amusingly, Comcast is sending a tech out early tomorrow. I can hardly wait to see how he or she fixes this problem from my unit, since, if the pattern holds, it won't exist. It seems level one support won't or can't escalate my issue right now. I think that this is because my modem shows "end-of-life" on their side and I'd guess that they're not allowed to escalate until everything looks "green." Really makes me wonder why I pay these guys. Anyway, if something comes out of that, I'll post again.

Hope we all get to fly (un)safely soon!

Still unable to connect to Eve although the Launcher says that it is online. I can connect to the support page.

My knowledge of these things is limited but having trace route fall over at ibone level suggests to me that the routing tables are fubared. And the fact that it happened at noon suggests the possibility of a scheduled job.

It seems unlikely to me that ccp could manage to only misdirect traffic on the la backbone.

Given that it's 1:30am on Sunday morning in Iceland at the moment I highly doubt that anyone is going to look at this from there end until Monday. However my previous experience with Eve internet outages (which I'm not sure was the same thing) tended to clear up on its own within <8 hours or so.

Is there anyway to get someone at Comcast to see this thread? Or to understand that this is a problem that is most likely on their end?

I talked to their live chat, but they "reset my router remotely" (because they don't believe that's it's not a problem on your end, understandable considering how many different types of problems and people they deal with), but after they do that they wait 4 minutes for you to come back. It took about 6 minutes for the reset to happen so they DC'd my chat with them....LOL ******* comcast...

Anyways, I'm just not sure if they actually understood that my problem was the same as everyone else (who they might not be taking seriously either). Is there a way to get across that this is a problem for a whole location (not on our end)?

EDIT: can a dev contact them if the problem is on their end and let us know? if the problem is on CCP can a dev let us know that it is being addressed?

Live chatted a tech at Comcast and was informed that no, they will not look at this thread as their computers cannot connect to non-comcast websites lol.

In other news, Comcast is confirmed as having the most useless "technicians" in the world.

I'm back into Eve. Happened sometime after 6:00pm and before 6:30pm California time. So downtime was almost exactly 6 hours. That seems very un-random to me.
