Again with the Golem, you can clearly see the 'bastion internals' even when it's packed up. Since they are also animated with a plastic wrap effect, it's kind-of distracting too. It's probably far too late for this, but they should have actually made a form fitting door that seals completely.

It also shows doubled hardpoints for the launchers (8 total visible launchers), which isn't really necessary for a missile boat that doesn't require LoS to fire.

Finally, I think it would look better if they rotated the Lai Dai symbol atop the port wing. Just my opinion there.


i have to say it looks more awsome showing bits of the glowing blue bastion material in non-bastion mode, kinda give the ship more complexity. but the whole ship needs lights like all the gallente BS.

Hi Guys

I've been doing some running around the stations (and geez, it is so hard to find an Amarrian station somewhere other than Amarrian space ;) ) via the captains quarters under DX11 - nothing changed between TQ and SiSi's FPS on DX9:

Caldari and Amarrian stations CQ's both drag the FPS down to around the 30-35 mark, regardless of position within the CQ. This is added with an exceptionally high amount of FPS bouncing: 10-12 in the case of the Amarr stations, and 5-6 in the Caldari.

Only the Minmatar station wasn't adversely affected - it only suffered a 5-6 FPS drop with a 2-3 frame difference.

My only theory is the actual size of the CQ is causing the issue, since the Minmatar is a smaller size relative to the others.

I've already posted a bug report (re: multiple via bug reporter being silly) about the Gallente stations doing the same, but I thought that you should know it is effecting other stations.

While I understand that the Paladin is a work in process, I have to say I dislike what I'm seeing. The hull additions on the bottom make the ship look wonky and like a pregnant cat or something. I don't know. It just looks wrong somehow. I was really hoping to see some of the armored panels along the top of the ship raise up or slide out into place. I feel like this could really be knocked out of the park with bastion mode without changing the fantastic model that is currently on the live server. I would much prefer not changing the look of the ship until bastion mode is engaged.

With that being said, I am super ridiculously excited about bastion mode. The Paladin has been my workhorse for over a year now and I feel weird flying anything else so I'm really grateful to see it getting some love.

I really hate to say it to CCP, Over the last 2 or 3 years I've been impressed by almost every single tweak they have made but this is sub-par all around. I won't cry for the command ships to stay the way they were (Sleipnir and Nighthawk being the most gorgeous ships in game) but I will say the new t2 hurricane hull is very boring and lackluster. Just a paintjob? Why not create more diversity like with the rifter/wolf/jag or the tempest/vargur where it really has an upgraded look.

The menus don't have the bold look they used to have and honestly feel blurred when navigating. Absolutely don't need pop ups telling me what an item does when i'm hovering over prices.

The new warp disruption bubbles are very nice though and I loved the new login screen.

New Mobile effects look good but are painful when multiple are placed around a gate.

Can't zoom out far enough to see where you are ...... just a blue fuzzy ball.

Also received a stutter on the Mobile effects.

just saw that the vargur bastion animation was updated and there is now an electric arc buzzing happily as well as new vent flaps glowing as if exhausting heat. looks good. still somewhat subtle but better.

Things I have noticed (and may have been mentioned):


  • The new tractoring structure appears to work as intended, but on my client the tractoring beam is focussed on my ship and not the can/wreck it is tractoring.
  • The new activation/ref timers for deployables look great but the timer overlaps with the target lock timer, obfuscating a clear result for either (sucks if you're in a big ship with low scan resolution - muddled numbers).
  • The cyno jammer deployable visual effect is very inconspicuous whilst zoomed out even mid-range. Would be nice if it was more visually recognisable/distinctive from a distance (like with bubbles).

Vertex; Everything seems to be working a lot better now:

However, I did notice that in the DX11 CQ's; they seemed to suffer a drop in FPS whilst my pc was playing youtube vids - especially in the Minmatar CQ which dropped from 60 fps to around 35ish. The Caldari station also seems to have a spot about 2/3rds of the way down the platform towards the captains lounge where FPS also drops heavily.

Any news on the Optimus issues? For what it's worth on my sytem (Alienware x-51, Intel HD4000 + nVidia GTX555) the last Rubicon update still doesn't work as expected (as the old client, that is ;-)).

The dx11 client keeps picking up the wrong screen resolution (1440x900) and changing it to the correct one (1360x768) doesn't work.

The dx9 client works fine at the right screen resolution only after erasing client settings.

Is the deployed golem thing finished ? Because the deployed mode is still very ugly with these grey textures deploying, barely hidden by the blue effects.

(Not counting the new Golem as a whole of course which is ugly too Cry but at least it seems finished...)

We did manage to reproduce this in Full Screen mode only. However, since upgrading to the latest Nvidia driver, the issue does not present itself anymore. Could you please try it out and see if that helps?

And it seems I spoke to soon, as we now have the issue again, even after upgrading the driver.

We are looking into this right now.

We did find a bug, which has now been fixed. The fix should be up on Sisi this afternoon.

SOE/Lighting effects while Cloaking

Because of the effects, the cloaking just solidify the object making the effect in the circle look apart of the ship, you should work on making these effects different colors then the ship while cloaking.... its irritating me because you'd think it would look different.
