Also I'm interested in what type of agreement there is between CCP and SOMER (I woudln't be surprised if you say it's between you guys...) seeing as by the looks, you're donating these rare ships, which I am sure will gather A LOT of attention, which in turn will be tons of people giving SOMER their ISK for a chance to win.

The ISK betted will be returned to CCP or kept by SOMER? , ...

More or less the last part. Somer is going to make a killing off the tickets they sell. They do offer a great service, but that is paying for itself already - why give them even more ISK? The T2 BPO lottery was more fair than this. It's just a roundabout way of spawning ISK for Somer.

I like new and rare ships being introduced, but it should be in a way that it doesn't benefit only one entity. Unless that entity is CCP that is :)

I threw 16 billion into blinks just because of this promotion. Hard cash which might have gone to emergent gameplay (www.minerbumping.com) now is in the hands of one of the richest EVE players thanks to CCP's decision to do this promotion via Somer. As they say, EVE is a cold, harsh place. Sorry James 315.

Wow, really. So SOMER Blink and CCP are partners now? Do you guys even have some inkling of how this reeks of favoritism? Why not just check your player account records and give the ships out to the richest players.

...Actually removes content? WHAT? You honestly believe giving out Gold Magnates is going add content in? Content for content's sake is pointless if it's not MEANINGFUL content. Did you guys learn nothing with the Incarna disaster? CQ was content for content's sake. That went over well.

You must not be aware that these will become the best content viewed by two players spinning them in their stations. Oh yeah, CCP! Getting that content back in for those TWO players!! WHOO HOO. And, better yet, it's most likely not even going to be two average players. It's going to be super rich blinkers who blow billions and billions on blinks. 2/2 CCP. Your logic is flawless.

"most philanthropic groups." This is the biggest line of horse **** in the whole post. I know philanthropic is a big word, so I'll go easy, but when an organization is shoveling billions of isk in their pocket and providing a service, that's not called philanthropy, that's called a BUSINESS. Last I checked, SOMER blink wasn't giving away their billions because it feels good; they were giving ships away because Blink is providing a service, and that's part of the deal--it's their business for crying out loud. Please don't try and spin anything SOMER Blink is doing as philanthropy. They're a business, pure and simple.

He'd be stupid to cheat. The system itself is set up to generate enough ISK for the corp, why ruin it by cheating?

This.
And the opportunity of cheating (even with CCP acknowledging the risk and not caring about it) is only a (IMO small) part of this whole issue.

I really don't agree with reintroducing the ships. However, CCP if you really want to distribute these ships take the EVE account numbers we all have here and roll a number using Chribba's Dice on Twitch. When a subbed account pops up then they get whatever is being rolled for. That way we can see that:

No 3rd party is profiting
It is being conducted fairly
You encourage people to resub or use a plex on alt accounts therefore removing PLEX from the market (unless you really want people sitting on them for no good reason)
You kind of give everyone a fair chance.

It's the same ****. Even if CCP picks a random account, it's still a lottery. Richer people still have more chances (more alts). So don't go parading about fair chances for everyone because there is no such thing.

While I agree that CCP made a absolute ****** decision, I do love all the comments saying "Somer could cheat, use Chribba-dice instead". Chribba is a veritable saint and beyond any suspicion, but he's still an EVE-player just like Somer. Why not cut out all EVE-players and just use random.org's number of a day in the future? [i.e. 1 random integer between 1 and x using pregenerated randomization for 2013-10-03]

As a regular Blinker, I still think that giving out unique ships that have given to Blink by CCP is a ridiculously stupid idea. If you want to give out unique ships, make new unique ships. Don't just create more ships that were released (and destroyed, with history behind them).

If you must give out rare and limited ships, don't be stupid enough to give them out via a lottery. People hated the T2 Lottery, I thought you'd finally learnt from that, and now not only do you repeat your mistakes, but you do it in a way that let's a third party fansite earn billions/trillions more ISK?

Again, if you don't feel like we're a legitimate service, I'm more than happy to help you discontinue claiming gifts each and every time we've offered them.

You know, in case you want to protest.

I'd like to preserve this evidence of SOMER threatening to withhold prizes from anyone who's not happy with this decision.

Apologies in advance, Somer. This whole discussion should've taken place in GD. And congratulations on the prizes :)

CCP Navigator,

I'm the owner of EVE Online Hold'em, we've been in business for 6 years, and players have bet over 300 trillion ISK with us. We have a thread here full of positive feedback.

CCP hasn't given us any fancy prizes, nor have we heard that it was even possible until seeing it happen for other gambling services. We aren't as popular as Blink is now, but if we were running games for unique ships sponsored by CCP, we might have a chance of coming closer.

I'm sure you can understand that we find this to be rather frustrating and disappointing.

I have a few questions:

1. How do we become eligible for your consideration?

2. How do we contact you?

3. Why did you choose Blink over other services that have proven to be as trustworthy and hopefully as virtuous, and have been operating for much longer?

CCP, I have been banned from blink.

How will you make sure players like me can participate in community events like the giveaway?

Should I be locked out of a chance to win this ship because a third party website doesn't like me?

Is it fair that some EVE players should be allowed to participate, while others shouldn't be?

Strange Weaselior, I don't read anything here about this decision, just about questioning if Somer Blink is legit. So you could preserve this evidence of SOMER threatening to withhold prizes to anybody who is questioning if they are legit. Big difference in my opinion.
