Its not possible to maxs mine to the limit because my 4 gpu`s dont have any sweat so far on any game out there.

I dont mind graphics but i do like game play give less graphics more gameplay thanks.

ps before you ask its 2 old cards back in 2009 hd5970

You make it sound like developers can only focus on one or the other. They can easily focus on both graphics AND gameplay. Also, if you read the OP, the devs ALREADY HAVE the hi-res texture pack finished; all they have to do is upload it as an optional download.

CCP has given tons of feedback on this thread, it just drowns because we are yelling so loud!
They said we should have it by the winter expansion.

Its not that pal its about that to many people are using laptops or old graphics card with only windows xp direct 9.0c and 3gb ram. This will end of every debate about graphics. You want high res tell those people to buy a new pc. The will not buy a new pc for some graphics. 3/4 playing on in your eyes commodore 64 while the others playing 1/4 on a desktop 4/86 Pentium 1. Notice the defriend? that's the fact the DONT release it. The only release this if 2/4 or even 3/4 depend on there quota have a better pc.

The know this because of the launcher the made. The launcher can detect what pc you using what background information or task you have running while you are going to play eve.

Just make it OPTIONAL- many of us want it, and you already have it DONE. Just make it an Optional Download and we'll all be happy. Do it. DO IT. Big smile

You make a good point, but the download for hi-res will probably be optional so people with old computers and no money won't have to upgrade to keep on playing.

Of course, EVE could have really awesome graphics if everyone upgraded their graphics cards, but most people probably don't have enough money to do that because EVE made them lose their job.

Good Point but i dont think thats possible the code CCP have use is bind the same a "server side code" prevent for cheating so in that case its impossible to use a other texture pack or the need to change the anti cheat program to "ignore" Some texture. its perhaps possible but then the need to recode the compleet anti cheat system. If to going to do that for 1/4 of there player base i dont think ccp will do that.

< Newbie here. Only texture pack I've ever downloaded was for the first "Mass Effect" game and I still can't find my lower jaw.

Totally on board with this. A question, though. Would this act like a 'regular' texture pack or would it be more along the lines of adjusting settings (High, Very High, Ultra High, etc)? To be honest, I don't know what the difference would be between the two. I assume a hi-res texture pack is easier to code, though.

If I ever saw CCP Falcon's character in real life I think I'd politely ask him to kick my ass just so I could brag about it.
