Next time you're called in to work at 3am in the morning to diagnose and fix server issues, let us know how that goes for you

I can't be bothered to go through 30 pages of posts, but I was able to get in by just launching the eve.exe file from my EVE directory. Worked for both of my accounts, one on a computer with Windows 7 and the other with XP (yes, I know). EDIT: also, I'm in the U.S.

CCP you are not funny and your launcher is crap, I have nothing but disgust at your light-hearted attitude to this.

Sorry, wasn't meant to be a "neener-neener" type post. Instead, I was posting the workaround that succeeded for me in case it helps someone else and hasn't been posted yet ('cause, as I said, I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered to read the entire thread).

Just to confirm, launcher is stil in Russian.

Never has been here in NZ... do a repair.. if on windows 7/8 try to get a internet server error with repair option & repair...

launcher is in russian in Australia.... guess you sheep lovers get lucky.

My launcher looks perfectly normal, I just keep having socket closing issues.

EDIT: I'm Australian.

If it continues look for a server error.. then look for the windows repair option..

How would one do such things, specifically?

I was a little tired at the time 3:06 but I remember having a training queue of 7 hours left. now it is 10:00. which means it should have been done and empty now (the queue). but instead I have 10 more hours left. in other words you ... 'owe' me 10 hours of learning at non altered(initial) attributes and +3 implants. and maybe some more for my inconvenience. and the mission Feeding the Giant in which i was half way done seems to be reset so the half way i did gone to someplace i didn't wanted it to go. which makes me loose more of something that one can never gain. time. i don't know what you 'owe' me for that one. i hope the scheduled dt don't reset it once more

EDIT I ended doing the mission 3 times. contacted a gm for it. I have a proof of my deed but gm is denying to 'reimburse" me on the matter. actually the gm was quite incompetent. he was there laying on his back and eventually getting paid for that. I had to explain to him a simple situation twice until he did something that I could do myself. which I did.

Works fine for me on mac. That said we don't have the new launcher yet, might be related?

Just woke up, logged into EVE and only found out there had been a problem from the news post.

Well done to CCP for resolving a major network issue, happening at the worst time of the day for any support team.

I hope you all take a well deserved rest after a long night fixing issues.

Read some more dude, far from resolved...

Have they tried changing their Language settings if the client updated them incorrectly?
If the worst of the issues are a Russian login screen I think people should be smart enough to get through it.
Buddy no offence but maybe you need to go back to bed for several more hours.. Your comments thus far may by then be relevant . As for the server going down at the worst possible time, there were 34,000 + people online for the 1st mass server kick, 28,000 when the server gave up the ghost completely an hour later. ( An hour before the OP posted his 1st message)
If you actualy read the OP's last edit -
Quote:
UPDATE - 08:00 UTC - DUST issues under control, we are however still working on login related issues for EVE
you might see the issue is not yet fixed.
Yes the devs are working hard in the middle of the night (for them) ; this work is much appreciated by the player base but then ,that is what they get payed for .

There is 'still' an issue which is 'still' affecting some, be patient and just keep trying. I finally managed to get logged in via the EVE.exe file (after many unsuccessful tries)

Missions can usually be petitioned, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did another SP handout like they did for the launcher snafu.

For the rest, it's approaching noon, and apparently they've been working at it since 3 AM, so maybe cut them some slack.

(Disclaimer: I've been having almost no problems in the past 4 ours or so, just one disconnect on one client, the other kept running. Netherlands, Win7.)
