If you read through the thread you'll see that Fallout has released a good-bye letter already.

thanks.

If true and i am not saying it isnt, its really sad. Lets get plenty of friends with at least one year sub into EVE to revert the situation.

I am out of friends but someone could have quite a list.

actually it's never the ceo who gets fired

They do but you never hear it that way. It's usually 'moving onto new things' and I can think of one ceo in the gaming industry who did that within the last few years.

So, apparently a big majority of the 20% that got fired from CCP are the community devs. Well known names are Zymurgist and Fallout.

The CEO (or whoever) of this company decides do ruin the game's development, because money is more important than satisfied customers/developers and also better than a good, playable game.

After he realizes he ran into a wall with his head in front, he decides to fire the employees who had to deal with the shitstorm caused by the outraged community.

Usually after things like this it's the CEO going, not the employees who have nothing at all to do with this whole thing.

They were fired for not properly communicating the :awesome:

It's my guess that due to how CCP tends to do stuff, "all in one go", both WOD and EVE were forever waiting on each other to get stuff done due to similar technologies. Party A needs info/stuff from party B, who is waiting on other thing to happen from another section of party B, which itself is waiting on something from... party A. It's a grid lock that can't be solved as long as focus is on both products equally resulting in nothing actually happening.

Thing is that this isn't only between EVE and WOD but also within EVE itself, that's why things never really actually happen and is almost always half arsed. The only way to solve that is to pick a favourite in order to break the impasse, I guess that's what CCP are doing atm.

Whether or not firing community DEVS over this, the ones who have been taking the brunt of our anger, while others who actually created the problem are still employed is probably very much about office politics, sadly.

CCP blew its foot off.

Then it decided it might as well blow its other foot off to make sure.

I really want to know what idiot is making these decisions in their company.

With the feelings of people around the world being focused on issues of being brought up by the Occupy crowd around the world this is freaking straight out moronic.

Its just going to cheese off more people.

So is this enough of a reason for the people that said they would wait and see what CCP does before unsubbing.

They fired the few devs that the playebase likes. WTF were they thinking?

I'm so disgusted by CCPs behavior as of late. I'm truly at a loss for words at how despicable this is. What more can one do to get through CCPs thick skulls?

This is an official "Call To Unsub" proclamation.
Obviously Hilmar was just blowing smoke up our asses with his "apology" and promise to make things right again. This is quite possibly the worst thing to do when trying to make things right.

CCP still doesn't get it. If they're determined to continue with business as usual, lets take that business away. Lets show them that this deplorable behavior will not be tolerated in the gaming universe. Here's the link to the account page:

One can do this! (Edit: Damn you Cyprus, Ninja edit too fast!)

To the 20% that, well, got the boot.

Thank you for your contribution to EVE Online, big and small.

And I wish you the very best in your future endeavors.

There is only one way to look. Forward!

(come on community, let us show them that we care about them, even if we don't Blink)

CCP fires the only people that the player base feels even listen to them or have the slightest bit of rapport with. I thought CCP was headed in the right direction these last few weeks, though I'm sad to see anyone have to get fired these days. But the list of people on certain websites that have (allegedly) been sacked so far (and not just those in the community team).... wow... I guess CCP just still doesn't "get it."

Response to the Cyprus Black initiation.

Do the right thing re-sub and get more people to EVE so CCP will be more confident about their future profits and retract those personnel changes.

That is probably logical way to achieve something positive about cutting off people jobs.
