Just a thought....

Jita, Rens, etc are the most wealthy systems in eve. They also have the highest traffic.

Would it not make sense to add more gates at trade hubs to other surrounding sytem not already directly connected?

And just to throw some real contoversy to the subject.... economically would you not build regional size gates to reach to further systems... maybe even... (dont hurt me) other trade hubs?

Your thoughts?

We had superhighways between regions before.

They were an unmitigated disaster. High sec was utterly dead when you went more than 3 jumps from any "hub", low-sec was even deader than it is now.

So no its not a good idea.

To that arguement i would say to move incentive to the "outer regions" of high sec. Lv 4 mission agents away from the hubs for example?

What is more to the point is that CCP does not want to encourage more ppl into trade hubs. In fact they would rather there were no trade hubs such as Jita and Rens, but after the last attempt to remove a trade hub when it was Yuli CCP have done and will continue to leave the systems as they are, so they will not improve them in any way shape or form except to allow the system the cope with the high numbers of players in them.

Theres no problem. i was just thinking from a real world prospective (dangerous i know) that if a town becomes more popular has more traffic, more routes to said town are built.
Nothing new like that has happened to eve that i know of. Just wondered if it would be worth it?

The trade hubs are where they are due to location, thats not going to change (tho i would like to see what would happen if they removed all but one bridge to jita) so why not make it a little (or more) easier to get there?

CCP should just go ahead and kill all of Caldari space.
Living in a wh myself and we NEVER have visitors, unless we have a wh to ANY part of Caldari space.

That piece of space is just WAY to popular, 5 times as many people in Jita as in Dodixie, is just ******** and actually tells you the whole story all in one go.

So there's no reason to do it, then, especially since they generally have more gates than other systems already (this being part of why they becames hubs in the first place).

So no, it doesn't make much sense — they have what they need already and, if anything, they could probably be scaled back a bit.

If you scaled back (for example) jita by a gate or two that would fudementaly change its usefulness. However if you add a gate you just make life easier for travelers. The trade hubs are already set up why not make it a little easier to get there?

It's easy enough as it is. Jita is no further than an hour on autopilot from any point in connected hisec. If you're actually in control of your ship, Jita is even closer. Then there are Jump Freighters which make JIta even closer, regardless of your starting location.

New Eden needs to be made bigger not smaller. It is already too easy to cross the galaxy avoiding all risk in a very short time.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Not really, no. Of the seven gates, only two are really high-traffic, and maybe two more sees any additional use. Travel is being made easier by the bypass the installed back in Empyrean Age (I think it was) so you don't have to go into the system to begin with. The same holds true for the other hubs: if you want to go inside them, they have more than enough gates; if you want to avoid them, there are easy routes around them.

Because it's already as easy as it needs to be — if anything, it's a bit too easy, and everyone would probably be better served if the hubs lost a bit of their importance and traffic.
