Can the loot all button get a boarder so that it stands out a bit, please? The window is now so busy that I find myself going for the center of it at the bottom (where the old button was) and then scanning the entire thing visually, reading the words listed to see where the button is because it is flush and not a visual button.

I'd also like it back at the center.

Not reading the entire thread to find out if this has been asked.

Edited to add: Amarr ships are very brown now and I'm sad. I thought it was going to be more of a bronze and grey look. Now its just brown and khaki.

The new inventory system is terrible. I mean it is incredibly awkward and not intuitive. It takes much longer to accomplish the same tasks. How is this an improvement? Its now unified in a very bad way. You know what people like? Options, options and more options.

Thanks for the awesome missile launchers. I started playing in 2006 - glad to see 6 years down the line this got implemented, but better late than never.

I mine with 5 miners and jet cans. I used to just double click my cans in space and it would open them while keeping my cargo open so i could transfer ores. The shift click is just not working well, actually only about half the time for me. How about giving me a shortcut to open a container in space in the place of where my double click used to be to open the can. Or give me the option if i right click a can in space to open it in a separate window.

when looking at the corp hanger in station, and you apply a filter for say tab 1 then you go to tab 2 the filter resets, so when looking for something I would have to input the filter several times just to look through the whole corp hanger.

I would like to bring some new things in the right light as you see now.

First ......... Salvage - open container / wreck takes about 0.3 + - seconds longer. Call it lag. Just open the container now takes about 0.3s longer. We want to have a slower game or how.

Second .............. Item manager chapter for itself. I do not know who invented this system for storing things, ships, etc..

Before the expansion was one window, scattered as it is wanted. Cargohold, hangar, things on the station. Between the windows is simply one click could toss back and forth here and there and everywhere. The current system you can not even remember how this one does help shift + click. If I change the ship, undock, dock, jump.

Now I feel stupid imposed a window that has a lot of interactivity far. What I can see how much ISK I have? On it I photographed it and put it in a showcase? But this is one of me, I just have a dig.

Give a choice, the old system items, ships, etc.. A new system. The current system item manager email unusable for me, as it is.The current system item manager is unusable for me, as it is. Inability to store windows hangar cargohold, things on the station. So what I want and not forced upon me as one of the window at nothing.

thanks for your attention

I would like to see the old UI come back this new one is inconvenient and a hassle. Maybe an option for the old UI for us that don't see a need to fix something that isn't broken?

incorrect answer is incorrect. we do not have to just "deal with something" if it adversely affects our game play.

when we say 'pubbie' we mean people who are too new to EvE to truly know what they really do or don't like, who don't have a slew of assets spread across the galaxy strategically, and are mindless automatons who just feed on what they're given without question.

I agree that the new multi system sucks! I have been playing for 8 years and have had windows located where they are convenient for me. My stuff stays on at the station and is in order, my ship and drone bay comes on when I leave the station and stays on, My ships cargo stays on in station so I can drag and drop my ships cargo quickly and un-dock again. Uni-inventory is a stupid idea, who came up with it, somebody you hired from EDS or Microsoft.

Its always been true that the longer a game is played the more stupid idea's the developers come up with to drive away players. CCP has now put its foot on that path.
I will wait for a change, but not for long. There are many other games to play out there instead of having to deal with junk programming that no one in his/her right mind would ask for, or even hinted about wanting!

OK, Day 2 - An idea that might be close to both worlds that might be possible:

I like that when I shift-click now on say, 'Items' that it will reopen the items window where and as large as I had it before. In fact, if there was a way to make the 'master' items window just be the tree I might actually be more likely to give this thing a thumbs up.

Example: http://i.imgur.com/pgeBG.jpg

If this were to happen then the 'old school' folks can open their windows in the 'tree' and position them like they used to. If CCP can make a 'state memory' that says, "Did the player close his ITEMS window when he undocked? If no, then next time he docks open it up again for him automatically."

The 'master tree' , in my opinion, should have the ability to minimize to not show container items, but just the tree. A three-way toggle could allow that to happen without it 'disappearing' (both sides show/ only the tree shows/only the items show). Why I think this would help is because if you have a huge tree (POS for example) you are wasting a ton of room on the screen to maybe only show a single stack of POS fuel. If a 'tree only' option existed the needed real estate could be saved for more ciritcal thinks (like Local and intel channels)

If you could make this happen I think it would reduce a large amount of the anger from the raging mobs (although POS operators are still in dire need of a better solution).

Also, please put the active ship back in the hangar.

One minor bug with my idea though, when I undock, the 'extra' cargo bay stays open. (so I have two bays), the current 'state tracking' isn't working right with it at the moment.

Hey, guys. Your unified inventory is a great idea. It takes up significantly more screen real-estate, even moreso than using the previous system, which worked in a more disconnected manner but most importantly, it's slower.
The unified inventory is slower for day-to-day tasks than the old system was, so you should probably consider it an utter failure to have released it in this state. It feels like cargo queries are pushed to the client at the same rate that the overview updates and along the same lines, it seems like whenever cargo structure in the hierarchical window changes it also has to wait for an overview update.

If you need proof it's slow go and loot the last room of Angels Extravaganza. Or just use your almighty devpowers to get 30 wrecks with cargo. Salvage those wrecks and try to loot them. As it was, I could double-click down my entire inventory then mash take all. Less than 20 seconds all that loot would be mine. Now it takes two minutes. I have to wait for the inventory of the one container to load, hit take all, wait for the empty loot window to close and send me straight back to the ship inventory then I have to go down to a cargo container again, then wait for that to load, wait for the empty loot window to close... It's multiplied the amount of time it takes to do a simple task like looting threefold at the least.

Another irritating thing that the Unified Inventory does is explores the destination where you're trying to move your stuff if you've hovered your mouse over it for more than a second. I know personally I'd love to not drop stuff into a corp hangar I don't have access to (so I don't just fling stuff at hangars like the inventory seems to think I should), but I'd like to move multiple groups at a time, so I'd like to stay in my items hangar so I can grab that other group. NOPE, the Unified Inventory says, we're gonna force you to go back to your items hangar and scroll down/whatever all over again so you can grab that second group. There needs to be a way to indicate to the UI that you want to explore into the folder you're moving stuff into, not just make the assumption. (Perhaps a modifier key or a mouse gesture.)

The last major inefficiency with this new system is somewhat minor, but gets in the way of doing things. Window focus. If I've got the items hangar in focus, and I move my mouse over the index pane, I can't scroll up and down in the index pane, just the items hangar because I have focus there. It would be massively convenient and allow me to run a smaller window for inventory (see screen real-estate earlier) if I was able to scroll the index menu by mousing over it and scrolling my scroll wheel.

The system has potential but it's extremely unpolished at this point. You guys needed a bigger team or more internal testing for productivity against the old system, because as of right now, it's a step backwards when it could have been two steps forwards.

Feedback is what you asked... Feedback is what you shall receive! Twisted
I will attempt to cover as much as possible but truncate the feedback as the list is rather large.

War Declaration
Most changes are absolutely terrific. Cookies, beers, chocolate for the both the backend mechanics and the UI team that worked on this.
Two things that I would've liked to see different are: Base fee of 20/50m for wars vs corp/alliance. Deccing several corps in an alliance should cost more than a single corp! This has been mentioned allready but under Wars/Kill Reports filter please add "All" or "Both" and color code kills/losses green/red. This would make the changes complete
Big smile

Modules
I haven't had time to play with these yet but I am very excited about them and am looking forward to it. Prices seem a bit extreme on most of these. Could be that either not enough have been found yet or seeds need to be increased to facilitate more widespread testing.
Defender missiles - I haven't tested this yet (as all my items and ships have disappeared after todays patch) but if light defenders cannot be loaded into rocket launchers, thats BADDD.... also why isn't there a defender variant for Large launchers? (Cruise/Torp) Can Light/heavy be loaded into those or are they restricted to their own groups??
My last issue is with this: "The Target Breaker skill book got seeded and is now available." Well for one, I can't find the skillbook in the market search. Also the module doesn't show any new skill requirements under it's info window. Most importantly, if this is a new experimental module it shouldn't need any new skill requirements!!! Do you really want to have to reimburse all those skills? If this module is here to stay and is getting new skill requirements a BPO needs to be seeded.

Graphics
Well, I've read mixed reviews on this and in my opinion the new looks are simply amazing! Yes the missiles might not act very realistic, but c'mon, who wants to play a space simulator, we'd have no sounds, a dark empty sky... it would be boring. Fins 4tw.
Also can't agree with people complaining about the new Amarr skins. Some ships do look a little dirtier, which is a bit disappointing but I think the new details and textures more than make up for it.

Character Creator and New Player Experience
Cool! +1

Ships
Not very fond of the extreme changes being done. While they're acceptable on frigates, I'm very anxious about what's going to happen to larger hulls. They can easily be FUBAR if not dealt with carefully. Will post further on the appropriate threads for these.

Factional Warfare
New FW window - wow... love it :) Couldn't think of a better one myself. Excellent and clear improvement.
Changes to mechanics... I think we can all speculate a lot whats better or worse but I think the only way to find out is to see how it plays out. Great job on appropriate LP rewards for pvp kills and plexing. The upgrades should lower sales tax, not broker fees, or both. Total lockout from stations is a bit extreme. I do see the viewpoints of both sides however, you dont want ppl to lose access to their stuff, but you want to prevent docking games and such. My idea on handling this would be to deny docking rights to any ships but pods and shuttles. Deny use of services including fitting/market so they can't buy/fit ships there but still allow them to dock at stations to evacuate their ships/assets out. This would fix all problems while still allowing people to move their assets to the frontlines w/o fear of losing it or having to corp/faction hop to get stuff out.

Datacore changes
I don't know what the ruckus is all about. The changes to passive R&D are small. FW Datacores will be more expensive than R&D ones. The only thing I disagree with is removing science skills from being factored in your R&D. I have 6 lvl4 R&D Agents I'm running and while I do have use for having those skills at lvl5 for invention, many others only train them for the extra RP gain. I'm fine with the rest of the changes.

Unified Inventory
ALSDKFJ3ASDFJAJRTOPAIRTJHPAJGKATH2H5!!! I will respond on this separately in Soundwave's new devblog.

Market Tax Increase
Fine, whatever. We knew it was coming.

User Interface
Name Custom Groups - NICEE!!!
Drag Info Image to link - NICEEE!!!!!
The UI overall (except the unified inventory) seemed snapier, fluid, more awesome and a lot faster and pleasant yesterday. After today's patch however there seems to be problems with dragging things... they get stuck, they randomly drop, missclick etc.
<3

Fixes
A lot of good fixes here. Great work and much appreciated.

Overall impression:
There is A LOT of good stuff here that I was looking forward to testing and playing with. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work, however the new Unified Inventory has made my experience of interacting with my items (which is required to pretty much do anything in EVE) such complete hell that I haven't been able to do anything I wanted. It is unfortunate that such great patch be tainted so badly with a major **** up. Not even mentioning all the other bugs which are making it impossible to play this game. I hate to say it but such a poor implementation to being able to interact with all your assets can **** up the entire experience, so until that is resolved I cannot continue playing. I am not threatening to ragequit or anything, I've been paying and playing since 2004 and will continue to skill my characters but until the new UI is brought up to standards and patched up to a usable form I will not be logging in other than to change skills.

Bottomline... great job (both sarcastic and not) on making an awesome expansion and making it unplayable

Hey are there new missile effects? I wanted to see them but after I patched 8 times I tried trading a stack of things from one character to another in a station and fell asleep after 6 minutes of inventory updates. True story.

Okay, so it's put through, that's fine.

One suggestion to make life a LITTLE easier.

Can you at least give us the two shortcuts back down near the undock button that would quickly take us to the 'Item Hangar' and 'Ship Hangar' parts of the inventory?

Or at minimum give us the ability to pin the Inventory button below the rest of the other buttons?

If this is already in place and I can't figure it out, great. If not, please do it.

All chat windows seem to be having characters that are not there or logged etc.

I still supposedly have an alt logged on according to corp chat?!?!

Also makes travelling thru low sec unknown since I have no idea who is actually there or not :-0
