Doesn't show unassembled ships in ship hangar, which could be a pain in the bum long term.

Still be nice to have the option for station containers to remain open, and not lock everything. Also to be able to right cick>sell item from station containers.

My input... this new inventory idea... please scrap it... this feature is just as useless as the walking in stations idea...
as all EVE players are aware, you had a ships & items hangar in station, and a cargohold box to use. This feature was already MORE than adequate...
The way it is now pretty much ruins the functionality... did nobody ever tell you not to try to fix something that isn't broken?
A minor issue is also with active ship not showing in hangar, we want to fix this.

As far as the missiles go, im still yet to see them as my client refuses to load or fix.
AttentionPlease fix the game launcher.Attention
I have seen numerous posts on the launcher failing but i have not found any fix as of yet.....

With regards to this new War-dec system, i am only failing to see the benefits for an aggressor. It seems one sided for the defender, which means it lacks balance. In my opinion, the war deck system was good before, it just needed tweaking so that greifers couldnt con an industrial corp into giving the merc corp ISK, then just not helping them.
^I.E. More secure payment method for 3rd party involvement^
I believe this could have been resolved with a simple contracts page to a corp, defining the terms and payment for mercenary involvement. Maybe a limit could be implemented in how many merc corps can be taken on to help, instead of the defender hiring everyone around, which puts the aggressor at a MAJOR disadvantage, thus killing off high-sec war.

Despite these irritating bugs and unfinished mechanics, i still love EVE and believe this is the only MMO worth playing, and also i understand that it will require more efforts to perfect.

it is amazing to me that after you read all these posts to the new unified system, the only dev responses are from those who have worked on OTHER things!!! after a major release like this do you not (eve) think it wise to have all hands on deck to deal with any problems???!!! i have never posted in the forums even though i have been playing for a year now and seen all that ccp has done over this time. anyone who has played eve for a day would not have liked this change,, there is no explanation for ccp releasing this junk on us (unified inventory) other than this some how must be needed to make eve work with the whole "dust" thing. well i pay for a pc based on line game... i dont give a F#$% about playstation 3. my 2 accounts expire this month and will not get renewed unless this is rolled back or made to be an option... and ccp. better hope all the players youve enraged this time dont find a game that really grabs there interest while waiting for you to fix what wasnt needing to be fixed in the first place.

I posted this about the UI in the features discussion section far prior to release in the hopes a dev might catch on and actually read it:

"#158 Posted: 2012.05.13 06:47 | Report
I have recently been on SISI doing some things where these changes have been made in the UI already.

If you're looking for feedback on that - as it stands currently please do not implement your changes with regards to inventory.

WHY?

It's very clunky and confusing and clearly not well thought out. No one considered the adage of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.

I found moving items I just purchased into ships to be less than intuitive for example no longer being able to double click in hanger in an active ship to bring up the cargo hold of the ship. This method was quick. I found out that I had to drag things into the dumb inventory screen. I get that many people are not organized and need something like this to do it for them. That's not the case for me. This just jumbles everything up.

No item-like representation of all the ships in a current station. I like to be able to quickly glance at my ships in a window i have positioned directly above my hanger inventory window. I can see what I have what is assembled and fitted and what is disassembled and needs fittings. In the new UI inventory screen it is very difficult to ascertain what I have available and where it is without clicking on the assets screen. In a stressful situation (read: living in nullsec) I simply do not have the extra 30-45 seconds it takes to try to figure out where the hell my stuff is. I need to be able to quickly identify assets in it's own window that pertains to locally available inventory only. I do not want to hunt for it in a list of ships on the left hand side of the screen with various drop down arrows.

Speaking of that left hand side panel with the item types (ships etc) if you have multiple drop arrows of stuff - e.g. drone bay and you are trying to move things into your ship's cargo hold it is WAY too easy to drop it in your drone bay instead (which of course as you should you get an error message). This wastes my time.

This needs either a lot of work or the ability to COMPLETELY revert to the original style ala walking in stations."

Again CCP has decided that the feedback (it was generally negative there as well) was not sufficient to reduce the desire of publishing something their subscribers actively resist and don't want. Additionally I am really surprised that not a single dev in the midst of 28 pages of forum posts almost all saying the same thing has not been 'on scene' as it were to quell the concerns presented. The last time this happened I actually un-subbed. But, lo - after enough people did the same CCP came back with a vengeance and asked us old-timers back. Well, we did come back but we did so at a cost and expectation - that we be listened to. That's all. Nothing fancy. Nothing more involved than that. Very simple to follow through on.

As it stands now the UI change has made EvE Online an unplayable game. The same issues I originally discussed and that were mirrored by others were gone unanswered as if they didn't exist and were unimportant nuances not to be stood in the way of by CCP devs. It has taken something that could be great - awesome new content, improved graphics, etc and destroyed them with something that reduces the playability of the game. I had such hope watching ALL of the videos from fanfest sometimes during breaks at work streaming live about the new direction of EvE and CCP. I felt the excitement of a team dedicated to making the experience better. Yet, now, I am again let down.

Yes, I see some players saying the UI change was good and works as intended. However, I simply can't believe that these players have any mass of in-game assets such as an older player would. Of course, it is easy to navigate if you have three ships as opposed to 15 in one station alone or if you just shoot rats and do nothing else at all e.g. looting, production, mining operations - anything requiring more than a 5 minute attention span (what made EvE great previously). What's more it takes far longer to do simple previously rapid tasks such as moving things around - when you can even find what you're looking for.

Now, i'll not be rash and suggest 'i'm so MAD i'm gonna unsub all my non-existent 10 accounts immediately' as many have said. Rather i'll take the more rational approach and again appeal to CCP as I originally did and ask that this be removed, improved upon, or optional. I'll give a time frame of 2 months past my current subscription (a quarter) to get this handled properly. I will not continue to pay for a game on two accounts that I can not use. That's the bottom line. IRL I carefully choose what I do with my leisure time as it is limited. CCP is prompting me to re-evaluate spending that time with them. There are other increasingly more complex and worthy time-sinks out there either available on market now or under development. Look, there are serious consequences for companies that rock the boat with their 'cash cows'. That is what us older players are your 'cash cows'. You exist as you are today because of us. It is unwise to forget who we are, what we expect from you, and what inspires/ed us to play your game. If you forget as you have before the result is quite clear financially. Keep all this in mind please.

I love the new missiles visuals and sounds, almost lost my Drake last night because I was so busy watching the missile impacts and not concentrating on the battle. Really awesome, fantastic job CCP.

Also I think that the new Inventory system is pretty good. It's nice to have easy access to everything in one window and its easy to drag items into another cargohold or even view the contents by pausing for a second and it shows the contents. Much better than the old system and so much easier to view the contents of station containers.

Glad that the patch today resolve the auto open/close issue on jumps as the was irritating, otherwise all in all I am very happy with the changes.

Not a fan of the new inventory system.

Not a fan of some drones still not having bounties (i.e., Silence The Informant's Elite Drone Parasites).

Not a fan of my ship not wobbling in my hangar like it used to before Captain's Quarters hit the deck (i.e. currently just the camera wobbles-the ship is a static billboard...or brick in suspended animation).

New bomber graphics look intimidating which is nice.

I appreciate my Incursus getting a 4th low slot.

Reskinning of Amarr ships is okay, but shouldn't really be a priority I think. I care more about the engine than the paint job.

New modules are nice so far.

Missile launchers getting their 3D displays is nice. Haven't seen new missile effects since I have them all shut off due to low-end graphics hardware.

You want stuff to fix? Go back to the old inventory system, make our ships wobble in the hangar, add new missions.

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

The new inventory system SUCKS big time! Imp[ossible to naviagatewithout wasting screen real estate. WHy do I need all those filters for ship cargo bays? Go back to the old format, and apply this to the Asset list where it'd be useful.

If you note the two small white arrows towards the top left of the Inventory box, this will allow you to hide the filters pane when in ship.

The new unified inventory is just amazing !! It's so easy to manage the items now .The only thing that would be nice is if the window would close itself after clicking the Loot all button.

Keep up the good job !

Did you change the amount of RP awarded by research agents? Before this update I was earning 147 RP from a lvl 3 research agent with the appropriate skill trained to lvl 3. Today I am receiving 49 RP with the same agent.

I don't mind paying isk for Datacores but WHY?

It seems to be a step backward. Fewer RP and pay isk for Datacores. One or the other would be OK.

To be quite honest, I actually *like* the new inventory except for forcing me to shift-click when i want a new window. Perhaps double click? The less I have to spend energy moving both my hands the better. I am lazy. Second MY GOD THE POSes. Please give all POS modules outside the POS their own category in the new inventory list. I really don't want to skim through 20+ guns and other offensive modules in order to get to my Ship Maintenance array -.-

All the modules seem nifty except that MagSheath one. I can definitely see where it would be useful if you keep getting primaried by large fleets.

My only complaint besides those above is that the Purifier, which I thought was the coolest SB, now looks like crap compared to the other races :/ I would really like my old Purifier model back.

yup, you're right, but try expanding the filter/index pane and use the unified window without expanding it and sort/move your cargo hold loot into specific station containers. see if you can efficiently do it..Twisted

They are not going to scrap it. They are iterating it.

Whatever. I hate how CCP makes me dislike a game that should be a joy to play.

Btw, all of you guys complaining about the salvaging, the overview change screwed up ninja looting for me, which was basically my career at the time. That's what CCP does. They change the game without getting any idea of how this affects the sandbox at large. The only way to do that is player feedback, which they tend to ignore. Same sort of organizational arrogance which was reflected in Hilmar's first response to Incarna. Somehow the contrition of his second response never imprinted itself on the organization he leads.

So the lesson is, you can develop your own play style in the sandbox, just be aware that they will wipe it out in a heartbeat and you have to start all over. Because this isn't a sandbox game. That's a myth. This is a game where God is arbitrary and arrogant, and you might be one of the bugs he crushes when he creates a new range of mountains, or an animal he drowns when he alters the sea level.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.

Missiles are awesome.

Inventory is... WTF?!
When i logged in on Station i thought - ok, i might need to get used to it - but then i tried to use it... you know, first that bothers me is, when i drag and drop stuff into a container, its getting locked, even if the container is configured not to lock stuff. I have to make sure the container is VIEWED before dropping stuff into it, then it won't be locked.
Then: It's complete bullshit to have Ships Cargo and Item Hangar in one window, i just can't look what i have in cargo and compare it to what i have in station, and thats what i sometimes want. Yeah ok, i can Shift + click to open a new window, but i have to do it over and over and over and over (*imagine Dr. Cox armwaving here*) and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
Looting was never a funny job in missions or plexes, now its a pain in the ass.
I am so glad, i am living in highsec atm and don't have to live in a POS, i am sure that would srsly **** ME OFF

But yeah, Missiles are awesome - LOL
oh and i like the idea of naming custom groups on the neocom, i might reconsider using them now, would ne nice to have a few different styled buttons to choose from aswell (or even load own .gif files or something, can understand it if this is not happening though).

Would you stick your head out of your cubbyhole if you knew people were going to give you a thrashing? ;-)

I can see that it'll be a real pain in the arse in gang/fleet combat, but for myself it'll just take some getting used to. Rt-click "Open in new window" I'm using a lot, but still...

FFS ... Dont fix what doesn't need fixing

There is a bunch of things that NEED fixing, focus on that !

I gave the new inventory a chance ... tried to get used to it ... but it doesn't work !
It is to complicated for someone who has to manage a POS production, fast fitting ships is a nightmare now, having to to more clicks to make a same action that was used to make with just one mouse click ... cmon

I can see that it might be "cool" and easier for new players that don't know the difference between modules and their value.
But even for them it will become more complicated and complex as they start having more assets.

Only kinda good thing would be if you could click on the POS and see the inventory of all POS guns. But only if you would click on the POS it self ... that would be nice

Overall...

It is not functioning ! You made things that worked more complex and unnecessarily complicated !

Bring bck the old Inventory !

edit :

For those that will say ... ohhh but now it easier to find modules etc.

Pro tip ... Use station containers and sort your assets !!! GUNS , AMMO , FACTION , MID SLOTS, LOW SLOTS, etc. ... jeeeezzzz

In reply to myself a couple of hours ago....
After playing a little, the game launcher fixed probably as i was typing my previous post.
The UI faults are seemingly fixed, and the gameplay seems to be ok. not unplayable as some people have said. There are still a few minor issues with new patch release, but that's to be expected of course.
I do still think the new inventory system is a little on the 'pointless' side, but it works and wont intervene with my gameplay.
I would have really liked to see something useful, for example, a consensual 1v1 PVP request option, instead of all the can flipping B***S*** --> Also making RR involvement in a 1v1 impossible -I.E.- CONCORD.
I do however, really like the new T1 Frigate's layout overall, and will be enjoying the balance, as until now the Rifter was the best T1 Frigate IMO.
New missiles do look amazing!!! --> Nice work!
And THANK YOU for fixing those major issues promptly, i am much happier than i was last night.
I would like to see a DEV addressing all of these page concerns soon
