The new and proposed changes to Datacores :-

As an industrial, I am not really a fan of PVP or PVE as such, so why the hell have datacores been added to an LP store for FW? and why the change away from Invention being more passive?

As an industrial and miner I already have to PVE far to much to gain standings to be able to use a research agent and to get good refining in the stations I use, the problem with this comes in the title of the job I prefer *INDUSTRIAL*

So why the hell would I join FW? I dont want to fight I want to build. I currently work in manufacturing and let me tell you I currently dont need to join the f'ing army to get my job done.

1 issue I've had so far with unified inventory.

Looting:
Before I could have the wrecks populate in a separate window from my cargo and have that window add tabs for each new wreck opened. This made looting easy as the loot all button could be used and the window would move to the next wreck, allowing you to loot it without any additional inputs. This cannot be done now as the stack for the wrecks cannot be actually separated from the cargohold, and since the UI defaults back to the cargohold after each can/wreck is emptied the next wreck must be selected manually from the list on the UI window.

A possible fix may be to go to the last container added to the UI rather than the hold.

Personally I'm happy with the new inventory UI. It makes sense and it prevents the need to have x windows open to move stuff around between holds, conatiners and what not.

I don't see the big problem tbh. It's just a little getting used to.
And yes, it has some little twicthes that need some love but in general it's a step forward in decluttering the screen.

And I can see what CCP is saying with "people resisting to change". It's true.
If they would act on all emotions on patchday+1 we wouldn't even have EVE as it is today.

So they will take some time, assess the true value of all feedback and then might reconsider.
I for one hope they won't.

I was working on War Dec and Kill Reports this release - hope you like that stuff!

This was on the 1st page of this thread. Post number 10. This tells me that CCP knew we'd hate this new Inventory. There a is Dev going "Don't blame me. I was working on something else.!"

So after 23 pages, 90% of them saying this thing is "CRAP" or "junk" or "Stupid" or that is just "SUX" the question is simple. Why can't CCP learn from it's own mistakes? We've been here before......]

"Red flags raised by very smart people both at CCP and in the community went unheeded because of my stubborn refusal to allow adversity to gain purchase on our plans." -Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO

And so they repeated the same mistake. Making a change, testing it, getting feeback from players that said "THIS SUCKS" then ramming it down the player's collective throats anyway.

"The greatest lesson for me is the realization that EVE belongs to you, and we at CCP are just the hosts of your experience." -Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO

Well Sir, this was a lesson you didn't learn. You proved it today. The new inventory has made Looting from Wrecks, Player Owned Station operations, Jetcan Mining, Corporate Hanger Ops, and dealing with large amounts of items a tedious, time wasting, torture sessions. Your people were told time and again during Sisi testing that this change was not a good idea, but you did it anyway. Again....

I would humbly suggest that you either Rollback this change or make it optional as you did with the whole Captain's Quarters fiasco. Let us not take this latest lack of good judgement and turn it into International news.
Prove to us you can learn from your mistakes. And stop repeating them.

Gave this UI thing another try just now, tried to do some stuff in station, ran a mission, tried to salvage.

It's crap, compared to how it was before.

Will stop playing if this stays like it is now - it totally ruined it for me. Sad

In the character sheet window, the killmail/lossmail tabs have been replaced with a drop-down menu option. Why was this? The only purpose this seems to serve is to double the number of clicks required to achieve the same result.

Hi! I did this, there were three tabs there, one with kills, one with losses and one with settings that contained only the checkbox. I thought it would be cleaner and less cluttered to move all this to just one tab where you could access all needed Big smile

are these new killmail things supposed to show 0.00 isk value on your kills?

Kills and losses older than Inferno have 0.0 ISK since we didn't start logging ISK value of kills until yesterday. I've changed it so after downtime today it should say "Unknown" instead of "0.0ISK" for those reports so it should be less confusing. Thanks for pointing it out though! Big smile

The inventory system is useless If I lose a ship in low sec due to the time it now takes to move an item from one cargo hold to another, can I petition to get it back?
Im surprised reading the thread that feedback has been given to CCP on this because I cant believe something so awful would have been sent out in a patch. Its once again sad that all the good things in an eve patch will be lost in the glaring stuff up that this time is the inventory system.

Please give us an option, to turn this new inventory system off. It's useless. Almost as much incarna was. If you was able to restore ship spinning, I think you can give back the classic items GUI as well.

Ok you like the new system, great. But about the "people resisting to change": it's wrong... i do not resist to change if the changes actually make sense in one of the other way... people are not complaining about the frigate changes ( xcept the 1-2 users that allways complain about every change), or the changes to FW, what everybody complains about, is that 1. Feedback from Testserver obviously is totally ignored and 2. that the inventory is way too complex as it is now. Everything takes longer to do.
People have set their inventory windows in a way to optimize their personal workflow. Everybody uses the inventory different. NOW everybody has to use the inventory like the dev that actually made up this unified inventory. So i do not see the point of getting used to something in a game i pay for, that somebody else thinks is great, but 90% of the community thinks it sucks.

Point is. this inventory is not finetuned as it should be after having it on the testserver. THEY HAD FEEDBACK ABOUT IT, but ignored that mostly.
So, why should anybody actually waste their time on SISI to test stuff CCP wants to implement and give feedback if it's obviously ignored?
For that i feel i would be a Beta-Tester that pays for the game.
This here feels like " ok, we put it on SISI to give the people a chance to test it out, but no matter what the feedback is, we're going to put this live as it is anyways."
Why does something, that is obviously NOT finished and thought through properly reach TQ? SISI should be the place where fine-tuning is done, and NOT the life-game-server.

CCP tries to encourage people to log onto the Testserver to test things, but then those who do, are ignored. Imagine, the hours people spent on SISi are wasted time, as they could've spent that time on TQ.
So, people pay for the game, they are generous, yes generous, and spend their time on SISI to try and help the devs with testing and such, and then they are ignored? How does that feel?

Oh and another thing. i read the whole damn thread and one thing came to my mind. As soon as the talk was about something different than the Inventory, Devs jumped in and replied. So the ones actually in charge of the new inventory are either hiding, or finished their jobs a couple days ago and are on a holiday because they knew the feedback would be severe.
This does not give a good feeling for those people who actually DO what they are asked for and give their feedback. I totally feel ignored, and that makes me even more sad than the ****** up new inventory.

Weeell, I quite like the new inventory system. It took me about 5 minutes to create filters that made all my station containers unnecessary. So now I can find stuff easily AND still fit ships from the ship fittings menu, because averything is in the main hangar.
The way everything is now located in one window takes a bit of getting used to, but even that I can work around by using shift-click.
So far my only complaints / question would be:
- Is there a way to remember the position of seperately opened windows
- Now that you got rid of the need for station containers, I would like to sell them, but cant repackage them even if the last log entry is older than 3 weeks. I don't even get a message, it just doesnt work (this seems to be an older issue btw, possibly came in with escalation?)
- Please let me rename the CHAs, so I can actually see which one I am accessing

I only resubbed last night and spend 10 minutes online , so i am not going to comment on on most of the issues people brought forward because i haven t had the time to explore everything yet

One thing tho my avatar in CQ has changed dramaticly , small head big bambi eyes. And invisible legs , is this a server issue or is this a problem on my side

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

Yup like I said the 1st time a Dev said anything about the Inventory was to say "I didn't do it. I did the killmails."

I might add that I remember a company that would release uselss and annoying **** and ignore negative feedback about it during testing and after. It was a little company called Sony Online Entertainment. This is exactly the kind of behavior their SW:Galaxies team had.

I really like all of the features I've played with on this expansion EXCEPT for the ****** inventory system. Kill it! Kill it with fire!

You cant polish a turd, but you can certainly lacquer one....

For me all the improvements like the kil reports and drone upgrades etc has just been completely crapped on by the new UI.

I hope the devs that put hard work in to this expansion to make quality changes are raging at the people responsible for the new UI, I would be..

I really tried to like it. Well hop in the old noctis and suck down some stuff shall we?
Old way
Target x6 Tractor x 4 -wait a few secs- now madly as fast as you can salvage turn off tractor turn on tractors suck all down to floating cans THEN open open open open open open open open open .......(stack 2nd open so they don't move) open open... Now loot all loot loot loot loot loot loot loot ahhhhhhhh.

NEW WAY
Tractor and salvage as before THEN
open
wait a few seconds
loot all
wait a few more seconds
open
nice blue bar at the top wow
loot all
goes up kinda slow
open
well opens almost as fast as getting to warp
loot all
loot value changes too - wonder if its more accurate than insurance?
open
wait wait wait
loot all
wait wait wait
open
wait wait wait
loot all
I'll bet the people that made this have degrees
open
I wonder what the degrees are in
loot all
basket weaving no doubt
open
wow my birthdays commin up soon
loot all
stacked (shift open) windows of loot leaves empty window open. NICE. I never would have thought of that extra click.
open
maybe I'm a beta tester and they didn't tell me??
loot all
probably not - looks like its suppose to be finished
open
well at least the missile effects of dropping like a gravity environment and smoking like an air environment ...
loot all
is kinda cool
open
maybe i should turn station environment back on and walk around in it
loot all
since I can't show anyone who stops buy the spinning ships and lighting if I don't
open
as I try to entice them to give it a go.
loot all
what would be REALLY COOL is custom paint jobs for pods - like character portraits -

I'm gonna get so PKed (Player Killed) when they put that in the next patch.

TIME IS MONEY Everything now takes longer. Great job.
And by the way - all loot is worth exactly ZERO until you sell it.

Loose the blue bar AND the money thing since it only counts IN IN IN my wallet. Hopefully this will speed things up. Figure out why stack all takes forever and fix it. Fix stacked window not closing when empty. Then MAYB E - just MAYBE some of this can be saved.

Portraits work again. thank you.

I have a feeling I would never stop playing. I play too much. That might be the problem, actually. I have played since forever (2006) and play loads. I have my habits. Some of them admittedly are 'just' habits. Some are series of mouse movements and patterns that make sense to get a job done - while having things visible in front of you to eliminate (most) mistakes.

It feels a bit like the EvE that was played by CCP to come up with this UniFried Inventory was not Admin Online, Spreadsheet Online or PvR (PlayerVersusRoid).

I am not a person for using SiSi much, but I am then amazed to also hear that the feedback from the nice people who actually have had time to test this round has not been heard. That is a bit sad.

Please, CCP, can we have functionality moved up the list and awesomeness/need-to-Dev moved down a little bit?

Thanks,

Only issues I ran into today were the new inventory window kept popping up every time I went anywhere. Any time I jumped to a new system, it popped up. Every time I docked, it popped up. Don't know why, but it happened.

The other issue I had was that the sound cut out for no reason mid-game. I restarted shortly after and everything was fine considering I played for a few hours so I have absolutely no idea what caused it the first time.
