Yes We Do! there's room for everybody and anybody in RvB! if all you can fly is a frig you're as welcome as somebody who can fly a battleship.
Join Up and see for yourself! :)

ps: dont plan on being able to do any mining while in corp unless you want your hulk to go *pop* :D

You are totally welcome to fly a BS - as long as it is outside of the opposing HQ system - and you dont mind it getting blown up by tons and tons of frigs. Twisted

There are two rumors flying about:

CCP-RVB favoritism: Mangala did you buy this or was it free?

Is there really a chick in corp? Blink

But im not the really man to ask. Ask Del.

Ah, I was just poking fun at the absurdity of the thread and the notion (from some) that promoting such a game-changing, positive influence in Eve is a bad thing. Beyond, that, I figured you had more money then Del. Lol

Otherwise, just psyched about the war and glad to be in RvB -- and like Trix, it's not just for kids/new players. (U.S. pop reference, my British friends don't quite get.)

To potential recruits:

So, yeah, don't wait two years to try RvB, if you have an inkling to do so. You just might have a blast.

What I was told to expect from RvB: a newbie friendly chance to experience PvP geared mainly towards cheap, replaceable frigates and cruisers.

What I got: blown up immediately by the infinite gate campers who would never dare pilot anything less than a faction ship, and then immediately told I can't be reimbursed for my 40m cruiser fit because I hadn't been a member for a week.

Currently in corp stasis.

We dont do reimbursements.

And you dont have corp stasis because you dont get roles.

So yeah.

Facts dude.

Edited to add:

1 loss, no real involvement in fights and you seek to judge. Awesome.

Like you I lost my first ship in RvB already when trying to move to the Red HQ. I stuck around though, and have had over 150 kills in about a month, even though I play casually and only a few hours pr. week. Incidentally, it's the most fun I've had in EVE in a long time and the most fun I've had in RvB so far is flying in a destroyer worth less than 5 mil.

Also, please always remember that RvB is friendly PVP in the sense that the two teams respect each other and try to have fun fights, but it's not a cuddle zone where you will never be ganked. The principal rule of EVE applies to RvB as well, don't fly what you can't afford to lose...

Hi Xygatrix, it sounds to me like you never really gave it a chance, but I guess it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

I would take issue with you on a couple of points though. Firsly, while gate camps do occur, they can be avoided and they do not exist all the time regardless. Secondly, the number of faction ships used is actually quite minimal. A quick look at our killboards would see that most of our fights are in t1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers.

RvB really is an experience that to get the best out of, means putting a little effort in. The majority of folks that join us enjoy their stay, and many of us (including myself) are former bittervets that have had their faith restored in Eve via RvB.

One final note regarding your cruiser. I am sorry for your loss, but I'm not sure why you expected to be reimbursed for it? We have a free frigate programme, but any larger ships need to be covered by the individual player.

If I were you, I'd give it another chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.

All the best,

Hi Xyg,

What you were told to expect is the actual case, plus lots of regular events and themed weekends. There is also a designated system for 1v1's as well if this is more your bag than fleets, though you can solo anywhere.

Like the poster above, only fly what you can afford to lose as you will quite possibly go through a lot of ships simply due to the sheer volume of good fights!

in relation to the poster who had a bad time of it - I fly a Rifter more often than not. Said gate camps can be avoided easily enough by - not landing directly on gate (have a tactical), or jumping through in a frig which is hard to lock without fast-lockers around which most fleets don't have.

While we do have both a solo only system (Nomaa - FFA), we also have RvB NoobFleet that is specifically set up for new players to learn the ropes (and you can do so without losing a ship - as we do most training and testing to low armor).

So, your experience while frustrating should not be the norm.

Friendly bump for my former corp. RvB taught me to PvP. RvB is the best place to get on-demand PvP for newbies and veterans alike.

If you coudn't afford to lose it, you should have left it in the hangar. I've lost a hell of a lot more for various reasons (including gate campers). So it goes ...

We are having a great time running around and playing with E-UNI right now! In just over 24 hours RvB and E-UNI have had almost 1,200 kills. Great time and it is really nice to change things up every now and then. Also I really love flying in Purple fleets!
