No. They're already in the process of updating the ship models as well, and I'm sure the different art styles will start to mesh better as that progresses more. I will admit however, that some of the new lasers are borkus. LASERS DON"T HAVE RECOIL. The barrel should move when fired!

Amarr ships get soon updated to V3 Textures. Minmatar maybe, but i dont think, that these ships get V3 textures. Because they will looks stupid then at the Models. But with Incursion, the Sansha Ships got V3 Textures and the old Weaponmodells looked not fail on these ships.

Not that big a problem, really. The new turrets look awesome, the nebulae look better than the old ones, and synched firing... well, it's no problem either. I think it looks (and sounds) a lot cooler to have asynchronous firing, rather than synchronized firing.

My only complaint here is that some of the guns look stupid. I'm not a fan of lasers' new models at all and the 425mm railgun looks pathetic.

While a few of the older nebulae looked nice, I think what we currently have has great potential.

Presently, the only things that are really holding the nebulae back from displaying their true beauty are:

1.) Image quality. Compression makes a majority of the nebulae appear blocky.
2.) Image resolution, which is, currently, low and painfully apparent when you play EVE at 1920*1080 or higher. Furthermore, the nebulae images scale horizontally instead of vertically. This makes it so that, when you play EVE at very high resolutions, they end up looking look like this or this.
3.) Banding at the edges of nebulae images. This needs to be fixed. (Here's an example.)
4.) Transparencies in the nebulae are borked. Here's what the Gallente nebula looks like in Tranquility right now. This is what it should look like, for the most part.
5.) Lastly, the nebulae should influence lighting to some degree. I imagine this will be implemented once the V3 project is complete since that's when the art team wants to update EVE's lighting model.

Fortunately, the developers are well aware of all of these issues, and it was stated in the recent CSM Minutes release that improving the nebulae is in the pipeline. Hopefully they'll receive an update in the winter expansion or next year's summer expansion.

Also, adding an option to go back to the old "turrnets" is plain stupid. The only thing I might see added is a checkbox to sync/unsync gunfire. It would be fitting if only lasers shot at the same time, because I can't see electricity and light going faster to 1 laser than to another. Ammunition for the other turrets on the other hand...

why is it stupid, to add a checkbox to activate the old weapontowers and nebulaes?

have you read the startpost, there is the exact idea. The new ones are standard for noobs.

see, im the opposite, i woudl rather advocate furtehr iteration adn improvement, since going abck to the old one will nver IMPROVE anything, just put us 2 steps back with alot of dev time that ash been wasted, always ebtter to reiterate on waht we haev then to compleetly ditch something alot of man hours went into.
