There was a link to YouTube earlier in this thread to a video someone captured of the live feed. It has to be down by now and probably removed from YouTube if CCP is doing a good job. If I had a copy of that video though I would be calling all the news outlets seeing what they would offer me for it. What? Buying plexes with the money I made from selling the video of mitty's implosion? Now THAT is how you win Eve!

Exactly, what happened is that the CSM chairman encouraged thousands of people to mock a player until he commits suicide, if you fail to see how wrong is that then there is no hope for you.


So now all a player has to do to avoid facing consequences for being scammed is claim they are suicidal? What about losing a ship in a fight...what if that makes somebody suicidal?

Anybody who does that deserves to be ridiculed.

CCP is going into damage control, but it is far too late. They allowed it to get to the extent that it did at FF without pulling the plug on it so there will be some fingers pointed their way for sure.

No matter what is now said by CCP, they allowed a representative of their company, being member of the CSM to make the comments at a televised venue sanctioned by them.

Just a guess, but I don't think we'll see an 'open mic' panel at next years FF without there being strict conduct rules for those involved.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

Of course not, I'm not implying that CCP should give him the isk back. They should take actions aganist the Mittani.

And no, nobody will threaten with suicide to get the scammer banned, because no scammer is stupid enough to encourage other players to mock them until suicide in front of hundreds of people in the fanfest. Period.

What is so wrong with you to not understand that encouraging someone to commit suicide, or encouraging others to try and push them to that point, is plain wrong?

The fact that they admitted whether or not they were suicidal is beyond the point. Trying to encourage others to make it happen, whether it is a joke or not, is morally sick, disturbing, and frankly could quite be seen as illegal if it goes further (say if the person did carry out the act).

No, scamming is and should be allowed to happen. The problem is the mocking, and the harrasment. If someone gets scammed and claims to be suicidal, you report it to CCP and leave it be. By going public and mocking them while encouraging others to do the same you have crossed a line.

He is still classed as a volunteer representative. Just because there is no money invovled, does not mean he does not class as a representative.
